We are expecting a baby boy in the spring and are having the hardest time with boy names! Our girls are [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. We like [name_m]Smith[/name_m], [name_m]Ernest[/name_m], and Dashel. My husband is named Dashel, so we would call the baby [name_u]Dash[/name_u].
The middle name will likely be [name_u]Gray[/name_u], as it is my grandmother’s maiden name and both our girls have family names as middles.
Thoughts?
I like all of them, and they all have their merits. On sound, I think [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] & [name_m]Ernest[/name_m] sound lovely together and are similarly vintage.
However, it depends how important it is to name your son after your husband, and how important it is that names “sound” good together/have a similar style.
[name_m]Ernest[/name_m] would be my first choice though!
At this point, it’s my favorite for the same reasons!
I prefer Dashel! While [name_m]Ernest[/name_m] does work well with the sibling names, I just like the name Dashel more. [name_m]Smith[/name_m] is nice too, but as a surname it’s maybe a little too different from the others stylistically, if that matters to you at all.
