Esme pronunciation?

I pronounce the name [name_f]Esme[/name_f] “Ezmay”. But I really want to know which way is more prevalent! According to Nameberry, “Ezmay” is the correct pronunciation, but I’ve heard a lot of people say “Ezmee.” What do y’all think?

I’ve always heard it pronounced Ez-may. Never heard of it as Es-mee.

I have always pronounced it Ez-mee, never Ez-may unless it’s Esmé and not [name_f]Esme[/name_f]. I know a little girl called [name_f]Esme[/name_f] pronounced Ez-mee and I think the only [name_f]Esme[/name_f]'s I know are pronounced this way. If I met someone who pronounced it Ez-may this would change, but I have yet to meet one.

I’ve always pronounced it Ez-mee and have never heard of someone pronounce it Ez-may. It might have to do with where you live as well.

Pretty sure the correct prn is ez-may, but I have heard es-mee, and I actually like both.
