I’ve always thought [name_f]Esme[/name_f] was pretty but I just always overlooked it due to Twilight. The other day, someone suggested it to me and it peaked my interest. Did Twilight ruin it or not?
What do you think of [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Esme[/name_f] as sisters?
I think [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Esme[/name_f] are great together!
I’ve never touched a Twilight book, I saw the first movie (I think) and I don’t even remember an [name_f]Esme[/name_f].
I do prefer Esmée though, but [name_f]Esme[/name_f] works, too.
I don’t think Twilight ruined any name. If anything it made all the names of the characters more wearable, as names like [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u], [name_f]Esme[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and to some extend even [name_m]Edward[/name_m] are a little old fashioned.
I wouldn’t worry about something benign too Twilight unless you use two or more of these names in a sibling combo. I doubt anyone will go “oh you named little [name_f]Esme[/name_f] after the Twilight character”. Now if you had “[name_m]Edward[/name_m] and [name_m]Jacob[/name_m]" at home, or “[name_m]Edward[/name_m] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f]” at home, sure people would definitely think it was because of the books, but just one name…. I think it’s safe to say it’s not too Twilight. (Wait I take that back… the only name that on it’s own Screams twilight is poor little Reneesme).
I like [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Esme[/name_f] as sisters. I do think of Twilight though even though I am not into the books/movies I still make the connection.
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Esme[/name_f] - lovely sibset!! [name_f]Bella[/name_f] and [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] or [name_f]Bella[/name_f] and [name_m]Edward[/name_m] as siblings would be too much. I think any name on its own from the Twilight series is fine. They’re all pretty classic names and I would love to see them on lil kiddos. And, correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think [name_f]Esme[/name_f] is very popular at all? As in outside of the top 500? But I’m not 100% sure on that one. [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Esme[/name_f] do go really well together, in my opinion.
I asked the same question about [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]. I read the books, and I’ve seen some of the movies, and Twilight was the first place I had heard some of the names (like [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] and [name_f]Esme[/name_f]). But I don’t even think of Twilight when I hear [name_f]Esme[/name_f]. I really like a lot of the names that [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] [name_m]Meyer[/name_m] used in Twilight. Nameberry reassured me that [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] was not too Twilight-y, and he was a more prominent character than [name_f]Esme[/name_f]. So I think that it is usable and a beautiful name (I would have it on my list if it made sense to my Greek family, which it doesn’t). Some people will immediately think of the Twilight character, but I doubt anyone will say anything about it, or that many will even realize she was in Twilight. I agree with the person above who mentioned that Twilight made some of these names more wearable.
The only name I think Twilight ruined is [name_m]Edward[/name_m], and maybe [name_f]Bella[/name_f] (on its own, not as a nn), because they were the main characters.
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Esme[/name_f] are adorable!
[name_f]Esme[/name_f] is so pretty! My mom would have considered that as my name, but my dad didn’t like it. I think it’s really lovely! My name is [name_f]Leah[/name_f], which is a werewolf in Twilight, so there’s that. [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Esme[/name_f] go well together, too! The only thing that really is Twilight to me is [name_f]Renesmee[/name_f].
I think that because the name [name_f]Esme[/name_f] kind of disappeared until Twilight came out, many people automatically think of the series. But it’s not like it’s a weird character name (like, as previously mentioned, poor little [name_f]Renesmee[/name_f]) so I definitely think you can use it. It sounds perfect with [name_f]Nora[/name_f]
Esmée is not too Twilight.
I just prefer the original feminine [name_m]French[/name_m] spelling of Esmée or Esmee.
If the proper spelling of [name_u]Ren[/name_u]ée can catch on in the US, here’s to hoping Esmée will.
