Thoughts on the name [name]Esmerelda[/name]?
Not really a fan - it seems a little too unrealistic. I do love Esmé, though.
Personally, I love it, though I’ve only seen it spelled [name]Esmeralda[/name]. It’s a very strong, vibrant name and I love that it comes with the softer sounding nickname [name]Esme[/name].
I love it! My brother’s birthstone is the emerald, and since [name]Esmeralda[/name] means “emerald” I would use it in honor of him if I ever used it. I think it’s so charming and full of personality, and I love the nn Esmee for it. I would think a little kid would love the association to The Hunchback of Notre Dame (well, the Disney movie, at least), too. It’s so sweet and princessy.
I’ve seriously considered it as a MN ([name]Hannah[/name] [name]Esmeralda[/name]), but I think it’d make a stunning FN, too. I think it’d take a special type of person to pull off [name]Esmeralda[/name] well, though.
I think its a beautiful name and love its complex sound. [name]Esme[/name] is nice to.
I can imagine only a very eccentric, loud girl who laughs alot and is always getting into trouble, whilst [name]Esme[/name] would be the opposite - the quiet gentle girl.
This is a hard one… It’s a Spanish name and in Latin [name]America[/name] it’s seen as a stereotypical maid’s name. I know; I live in Mexico. If I were you I wouldn’t use it.
It’s a guilty pleasure name for me. I wanted to name a daughter [name]Esmeralda[/name] , nickname [name]Zelda[/name]. She’d be a wild, independent girl.
Then on the other hand I think it’s a good name for a witch:(
Not sure I could use it [name]IRL[/name].
I love it, but strictly as a guilty pleasure. I think it’s much too Hunchback of Notre Dame to ever use as a first name. Maybe a middle with a more common or classic first like [name]Sophia[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], or [name]Jane[/name], but otherwise I think it’s just too out there.
