Esra Juniper?

Maybe you saw my post a few weeks ago, asking how the berries felt about [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] as a girl’s name. I received some great feedback… many of which said they really disliked [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] on a girl. But there were a few comments that recommended [name_m]Esra[/name_m] or Esri, which I like a lot better.

That being said, the name on a girl is growing on me. And I particularly am liking it paired with [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]. I would love to know how you all feel about the combo [name_m]Esra[/name_m] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] nn Esri?

Note: I don’t love the name [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] on a boy or girl, but my DH loooves this name, especially for a girl. So, I’ve been letting the name grow on me. Or at least see if I can grow to like the name, because I care about what names he loves, too, and want to see if I can love them myself!

I love it! [name_m]Esra[/name_m] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] still feels fairly masculine to me, since [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] feels quite unisex in my mind. The combo looks great visually and Esri is a spunky nickname.

I also love [name_m]Esra[/name_m]. [name_m]Esra[/name_m] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] is gorgeous. Esri is adorable.

[name_m]Ah[/name_m], yes. I remember the [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] thread lol

I just thought of this, so I have to ask. Are there any names you two agree upon? You have been working so hard at accepting a name that you didn’t like when there are so many options out there.

But like I said in the other thread, I totally understand that you are doing this because you love your husband, and if you’re fine with sticking to this style of naming for your children, then that’s awesome! =]

[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] is not my style, but I can see that it flows well with [name_m]Esra[/name_m]. I agree with the pp that it’s very masculine and that could get confusing on paper.

I adore [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]. I am not fond of [name_m]Esra[/name_m]. Sorry. I do love [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] for a boy/man. What about [name_m]Ezra[/name_m]/[name_m]Esra[/name_m] on a girl does he love?

[name_m]How[/name_m] about:

[name_f]Edie[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]

I like spunky!

Well, these threads are more so for fun and games. He’s never been great at coming up with names he likes. I’m usually the one throwing out ideas and he just tells me if he likes it or not. But, [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] is special because he came up with it on his own (aka I didn’t recommend it).

I’m in no way saying that I’d go with a name I don’t care for as opposed to agreeing on a name we both love, but I’m curious to see how the name grows on me and by talking about it and brainstorming combos with the name and asking around, it helps me enjoy and appreciate the name a bit more than I used to.

When I see my DH get excited about a name, it makes me happy… because he’s usually so, “whatever you like.” Anyways, I agree with you. We both would prefer to go with a name we both love and there are a few we both enjoy, but it’s fun to see how this name grows on me. And I really have warmed up to it quite a bit since posting these 2 threads about it.

We haven’t gotten as far to figure out what he loves about the name. Though I’m sure we’ll get there one day.

These suggestions are lovely, but the only one I could see us using is [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and it may remind me a bit too much of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], which I know about a thousand. Beautiful name though.

That’s so sweet! I totally understand where you’re coming from =]

I love [name_m]Esra[/name_m] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]! Both of those are on my favorites list and I think they are beautiful together!

I know it may sound silly, but it’s fun for me! I don’t necessarily think if we have a daughter that we would name her this, but if we had a second daughter, I would certainly consider it more. I think it would be sweet knowing I more-so picked a name for one daughter and he picked the name for our second. But I don’t we’ll have 2 daughters. I have this gut feeling we’ll have boys! Hahah… so maybe this is all just silly talk!

I’m not a huge [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] fan, or even [name_m]Esra[/name_m], but I think it’s admirable how much you’re trying to like it for him! Despite my dislike for [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] on a girl, in this combo I can really appreciate [name_m]Esra[/name_m], and it seems so spunky and sweet. I saw your comment that you doubt you’d name a first daughter this, but would you try to make the first daughter’s name sort of fit with [name_m]Esra[/name_m]? I can’t really see [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_m]Esra[/name_m] or [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_m]Esra[/name_m] as sisters (although maybe [name_f]Stella[/name_f] and [name_m]Esra[/name_m], for some reason)–just wondering if you’d go more unisex for a first daughter (like [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and [name_m]Esra[/name_m]?) to make them fit better. I do like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_m]Esra[/name_m] as sisters, for some reason, though, so I think there are some feminine FNs you could definitely go with that would fit well with [name_m]Esra[/name_m]. I guess it just depends on what he agrees to, though (I’m guessing that could severely limit your options, lol. He sounds about as picky as my dad–which is a lot, lol.).

Good luck!

I don’t think it’s silly at all! It’s great that you’re having so much fun with this, really. And I’m sure your hubby appreciates it.

After this, having 0 girls would be a kicker! Lol

Excuse me if you’ve already said, but are you pregnant already or just thinking?

It’s a nice combo. Definitely gender neutral. I would prefer [name_f]Esme[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] personally, but [name_m]Esra[/name_m]/Esri is cute.

I have to say im not fond of [name_m]Esra[/name_m] at all, and i think paired with [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] it sounds very masculine. I quite like Esri as a stand alone name though

I love [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]! I am not feeling [name_m]Esra[/name_m] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] though… I dislike that both names end in the same sound. Feels a little clunky to me. I think Esri [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] is a winner though - totally adorable!!

Appreciate your feedback!

P.S. [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] [name_m]Othello[/name_m] is a really cool name! Never heard [name_m]Othello[/name_m] before… I like.

[name_m]Esra[/name_m] doesn’t have to masculine in your eyes, it is a Turkish girl name too. I like the combination of [name_m]Esra[/name_m] and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] btw. OT but for a short time I thought the child was part Turkish, heh.

I just love [name_m]Esra[/name_m] for a girl! [name_m]Esra[/name_m] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] sounds strong and adorable.

[name_m]Esra[/name_m] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] is cute but not very feminine. If you scramble the letters in [name_m]Esra[/name_m], you end up with [name_f]Sera[/name_f], which could be a similar first name option
