Which name do you like best overall?- Deffinetly [name]Lucille[/name]. I think it’s so pretty and fresh, while [name]Estelle[/name] is tired, and to me, very connected to [name]Joey[/name] Tribiani’s chain smoking agent.

Which sounds better with our other daughter’s names? (they are in my signature)- Again, I say [name]Lucille[/name]. [name]Scarlett[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Alice[/name], [name]Fiona[/name] and [name]Lucille[/name] sounds great.

What would you name a twin sister to [name]Lucille[/name] or [name]Estelle[/name]?- for a twin of [name]Lucille[/name], I would pick a name with similar feel and meaning. A few ideas…
[name]Nora[/name]
[name]Delilah[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Helena[/name]
[name]Lenore[/name]

[name]Hope[/name] that helps!

  • [name]Athena[/name]

They are both great, but I voted [name]Lucille[/name] because it is so cute and I love it w/ your other daughter’s name. As must as I like [name]Estelle[/name], I’m terribly sick of the “[name]El[/name]” names…it’s like every like girl I meet is an [name]Elle[/name], [name]Ella[/name], or [name]Ellie[/name] and it’s short for something else. I feel like [name]Estelle[/name] would blend in w/ all of the “[name]Els[/name]”, not to mention the Stellas. [name]Lucille[/name] just feels so much fresher!

Oh, and for [name]Lucille[/name]'s twin’s name, perhaps:

[name]Florence[/name] (if u call her [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Flo[/name] or [name]Flossie[/name]…super cute!)
[name]Louise[/name] ([name]Lucille[/name] & [name]Louise[/name] sound like vintage twins)
[name]Naomi[/name]
[name]Rose[/name]
[name]Betsy[/name], [name]Bette[/name], etc.

Those are both cute names with a bright meaning, that really it would be great both ways, but I know that doesn’t help so I’ll say I like [name]Estelle[/name] a little bit better.
[name]Soleil[/name] would be an awesome choice for a sister because it is french like both and means sun which is similar to star.

I would use them both!!!
Seriously, I picked [name]Lucille[/name], but I really like both.
I would do [name]Lucille[/name] & [name]Estella[/name] to give them a bit more variation (if that’s why you seem hesitant to use both?)

I really like both, but I think that [name]Scarlett[/name] and [name]Estelle[/name] share a lot of overlapping sounds (as does [name]Alice[/name], actually). I think [name]Lucille[/name] mixes things up a little.

Thank you for the comments! You brought up some things that I hadn’t thought about before.

I much prefer [name]Estelle[/name], personally, but I can’t deny how cute [name]Scarlett[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Alice[/name], [name]Fiona[/name], and [name]Lucy[/name] would be! It just fits right in. For her twin, I would probably do [name]Tabitha[/name]. [name]Scarlett[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Alice[/name], [name]Fiona[/name], [name]Estelle[/name], and [name]Tabitha[/name] is really adorable, imo.

Hard choice! I love both, especially the nn [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Stella[/name]. In the end I voted for [name]Lucille[/name] because I think it fits better with your sib set.

I voted for [name]Estelle[/name]. I think [name]Estelle[/name] and [name]Delilah[/name] would be nice as sisters.

I have to agree here, J.

I have to agree here, J.

[name]Just[/name] use them both but call them [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Stella[/name]. The long names sounds like 90 year old grammas

I really love them both!! I voted for [name]Lucille[/name], but [name]Estelle[/name] is gorgeous too!! I like the suggestion of [name]Lucille[/name] & [name]Estella[/name] together, or maybe [name]Lucinda[/name] & [name]Estelle[/name]? Other ideas… [name]Estelle[/name] & [name]Cordelia[/name], [name]Estelle[/name] & [name]Cecilia[/name], [name]Estelle[/name] & [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Lucille[/name] & [name]Adele[/name], [name]Lucille[/name] & [name]Ivy[/name], [name]Lucille[/name] & [name]Cora[/name]

Edit… Thought of a couple more! [name]Estelle[/name] & [name]Phoebe[/name] and [name]Lucille[/name] & [name]Margot[/name]. Also, what about just using [name]Lucy[/name] & [name]Stella[/name]?

I adore the previous suggestion of [name]Lucille[/name] and [name]Helena[/name]. I can so imagine [name]Scarlett[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Alice[/name], [name]Fiona[/name], [name]Lucille[/name], and [name]Helena[/name] as six gorgeous sisters.

I would say [name]Lucille[/name]. It also comes with the nicknames Cece, [name]Lou[/name], [name]Lulu[/name], [name]Lucy[/name]…

Maybe this is me reading too much into name meanings, but I think that [name]Lucille[/name] and [name]Helen[/name]/[name]Helena[/name] would be a good pair because they both mean “light.” And since [name]Estelle[/name] means “star,” maybe [name]Selene[/name] (“moon”) would be a good twin? [name]Just[/name] some ideas.

I think [name]Lucille[/name] fits with your other children’s names better.

As for a twin sister to [name]Lucille[/name], I like [name]Tabitha[/name], [name]Robin[/name], [name]Martha[/name], [name]Meredith[/name], [name]Virginia[/name], and [name]Constance[/name].

Thank you so much berries! I can’t believe how close the vote is though!

For a twin name (we don’t know the genders), we don’t want to repeat first initials. I used initials often in household labeling and such so just for practical reasons we don’t want to repeat them. I’m a bit conflicted on ending sounds… I like so many names that end in “A” but sometimes they sound a little too rhymy or sing-songy with [name]Fiona[/name]. That might be getting a little too technical though.
