Thinking of Esther & Olive today as potential future girl names.
What are your thoughts about each? Do they sound like good sisters to Maxwell?
I like Esther because she feels strong, yet soft. She feels on trend in the grandmother-esque name revivals of the moment. The Biblical tie is a plus! Essie and Tess would be sweet nicknames as well!
I like Olive because she’s got a quirky vintage charm that feels like our style. I also like the Biblical connection and connotation of peace.

EDIT: I should have clarified better above that I’m not set on using both names, just wondering your thoughts on each and if either sounds like a better pair with Maxwell. But, both may stay on the list as potential FN options!
I think [name_u]Maxwell[/name_u] sounds a little different from [name_f]Esther[/name_f] and [name_f]Olive[/name_f] but I think that pair is so sweet I wouldn’t mind what their brother’s name is!
[name_f]Essie[/name_f] and [name_f]Tess[/name_f] with [name_u]Max[/name_u] is also very sweet!
@Byan-kuh thank you! [name_u]Leo[/name_u] and [name_u]Dove[/name_u] are very sweet! I think DH likes [name_u]Leo[/name_u] already. I’d consider [name_u]Dove[/name_u] for a middle!
@Grandidieramy I do think [name_f]Esther[/name_f] & [name_u]Maxwell[/name_u] feel a little different but I think [name_f]Olive[/name_f] & [name_u]Maxwell[/name_u] sort of complement each other. I don’t know that I’d use both [name_f]Esther[/name_f] & [name_f]Olive[/name_f] - right now just considering if either could be a good contender for a girl!
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Esther[/name_f] are both delightful names! [name_f]Esther[/name_f] is gentle but strong and I love the starry meaning!Olive is vintage and quirky - a little clunky but in a good way! Both work well with [name_u]Maxwell[/name_u]
When I saw [name_f]Esther[/name_f] & [name_f]Olive[/name_f] together the sibling set automatically made me smile. Honestly [name_f]Esther[/name_f] & [name_f]Olive[/name_f] is charming. I also really like [name_f]Esther[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f] & [name_u]Maxwell[/name_u] together.
[name_f]Esther[/name_f] is a lovely biblical name with a naturally sweet disposition. [name_f]Esther[/name_f] is an underused name that deserves more recognition and it makes me happy to see her. I also like the nicknames choices you’ve chosen for [name_f]Esther[/name_f].
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] is adorable I’m a massive fan of [name_f]Olive[/name_f]! She’s upbeat, fun and feels kooky. It’s a vibe that I really love. It’s odd because I love [name_f]Olive[/name_f] but I’m really not a fan of [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] it’s amazing the effect of a couple of letters! Anyways [name_f]Olive[/name_f] is sweet.
From the two names my favourite is [name_f]Olive[/name_f]! I just love the lively vibrant energy of [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and I think she works with [name_u]Maxwell[/name_u]. But I do think the classic [name_f]Esther[/name_f] works better with [name_u]Maxwell[/name_u]
@tori101 thank you for your sweet reply! I agree that I prefer [name_f]Olive[/name_f] to [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] - I actually had [name_f]Olive[/name_f] on my list before and sort of forgot about it! I also appreciate your insights on both names. I may need to keep them both on the short list now!

I feel like I may add both to the shortlist and see what DH thinks! Right now, he’s only really liked [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], and I think [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]. I think he’ll like [name_f]Olive[/name_f]! [name_f]Esther[/name_f] may take a little convincing haha
