Hey everyone!
I’ve been loving the name Estrilda lately. It’s [name_m]German[/name_m] and means “Ice fighter”. Thoughts on the name? Is it usable?
Also, if you can tell me what you think if these combos:
Estrilda Evergreene
Estrilda [name_f]Snowdrop[/name_f]
Estrilda Sunrise
Estrilda [name_u]Bay[/name_u]
Suggestions are welcome!
Thanks

It’s unique and easy to pronounce, and I like to think most names are usable. But — I’m sorry! — I don’t really love the sound. The “Estr” beginning reminds me of estrogen, and the “ilda” comes off more like the heaviness of [name_f]Hilda[/name_f] than the spunkiness of [name_f]Matilda[/name_f].
I do like the combination Estrilda [name_f]Snowdrop[/name_f], even if it sounds a little like a [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] character.
I don’t hate but I don’t love it. About your combos, they look a little heavy on the GP side. Estrilda [name_u]Bay[/name_u] is the one I like the most.
Estrilda has substance. It’s a fierce name, rather intimidating actually. It would make a great name for a villain in a storybook. On a baby today, it could work but maybe with a friendlier nickname.
@babymagic Haha yeah, villain isn’t exactly the word I’d want to use to describe a baby’s name.
For a nickname I think I’d go with [name_f]Essie[/name_f].
