Etta Marlo??? WDYT?

I’m currently still in my first trimester, so am only just starting to toss around names. I have a daughter named [name]Lilia[/name] [name]Paige[/name], a name I had picked out for my first girl, long before she was even suggestion and luckily enough my husband thought it was pretty enough to bestow on our child. After setting sites on her name for so long I felt completely stumped at the idea of finding another girls name.

The week before I found out we were having another baby the name [name]Etta[/name] [name]Marlo[/name] (not sure on marlo spelling yet) kept randomly coming into my mind, names I had never considered before. Then I found out I was pregnant and felt almost as tho it was my unborn daughter introducing herself… a little crazy I know but the more I think about the name the more I adore it.

I think if its a girl [name]Etta[/name] will definetly win, I thought about going a fuller name and using [name]Etta[/name] as a nn but [name]Etta[/name] is what I like most and would want to use so I may aswell call her [name]Etta[/name].

As for [name]Marlo[/name] I’m not sold… [name]Etta[/name] [name]Marlo[/name] kinda feels like its trying to hard or too much of the vintage vibe at once… not sure tho because I really do Like the way it sounds.

[name]Etta[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] is another option as [name]Ruby[/name] is my sisters name and I’d love to use it, just not sure if it’s for [name]Etta[/name].

what do you think? What would you pair with [name]Etta[/name] to freshen it up?

I love it! [name]Etta[/name] is one of my favourites, its so sweetly vintage. I think it stands alone very well and is lovely with [name]Lilia[/name].

[name]Marlo[/name] is really growing on me recently, i although i prefer the [name]Marlowe[/name] spelling. I works so well with [name]Etta[/name] because of the soft sound and it is wonderfully unexpected. I do prefer it to [name]Etta[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]- although that is a lovely combination too. The only thing i would say about both combos is the 2-2 rhythm, maybe [name]Etta[/name] would flow better with a 1 or 3 syllable middle:
[name]Etta[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Etta[/name] [name]Susannah[/name]
[name]Etta[/name] [name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Etta[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Etta[/name] [name]June[/name]/[name]Jane[/name]
[name]Etta[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]

I like [name]Etta[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] better than [name]Etta[/name] [name]Marlo[/name], plus the connection to your sister is nice.

Some other ideas:

[name]Etta[/name] [name]Winifred[/name]
[name]Etta[/name] [name]Juniper[/name]
[name]Etta[/name] [name]Justine[/name]
[name]Etta[/name] [name]Poppy[/name]
[name]Etta[/name] [name]Maribel[/name]
[name]Etta[/name] [name]Constance[/name]
[name]Etta[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Etta[/name] [name]Vivienne[/name]
[name]Etta[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Etta[/name] [name]Blair[/name]
[name]Etta[/name] [name]Calliope[/name]
[name]Etta[/name] [name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Etta[/name] [name]Faye[/name]
[name]Etta[/name] [name]Gabrielle[/name]

[name]Etta[/name] is gorgeous, but [name]Marlo[/name] is not really my cup of tea - it makes me think of the film ‘[name]Marley[/name] and Me’ for some reason? I think also that the two-two syllable count makes it sound a bit static, whereas [name]Lilia[/name] [name]Paige[/name] flows so beautifully - perhaps something a bit longer might be nice? I love [name]Etta[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] as previously suggested, and [name]Etta[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name] is stunning too (I actually like [name]Etta[/name] as a nickname for [name]Marguerite[/name] as well!) Good luck - [name]Etta[/name] is a lovely, underused choice, and [name]Etta[/name] and [name]Lilia[/name] are beautiful toegther.

[name]Etta[/name] is lovely, but I’m not crazy about the [name]Marlo[/name] spelling. It looks incomplete to me. [name]Etta[/name] [name]Marlowe[/name] would be my preference.

[name]Etta[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name]? [name]One[/name] of my favorite singers is [name]Odetta[/name], but that’s a big name for a tiny person…just throwing it out there.

[name]Marlo[/name] is one of my favorites, sadly my SO, and all my family, don’t see the beauty in it. I love it, and while [name]Etta[/name] isn’t my style, [name]Etta[/name] [name]Marlo[/name] has an adorable deep to it, and I can see it aging very well. [name]Lilia[/name] and [name]Etta[/name] are perfect together!

I think [name]Etta[/name] [name]Marlo[/name] is very unique and cool. I also like some of the suggestions: [name]Etta[/name] [name]Simone[/name], [name]Etta[/name] [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Etta[/name] [name]Faye[/name]… [name]Etta[/name] [name]Corinne[/name] is a favorite combo of mine.

[name]Etta[/name] [name]Marlowe[/name] is lovely and will grow well with her. It’s vintage-y and feminine but not girly. The [name]Marlowe[/name] spelling makes it look less nickname-y and childish

[name]Etta[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] just sounds off. I love both separately but together they’re cutesy and kiddie

I second [name]Etta[/name] [name]Marlowe[/name]. It looks more beautiful and complete.

[name]Marlowe[/name] is one of my favourite names - but this is the only spelling I like  [name]Etta[/name] [name]Marlowe[/name] sounds really cute, and I’d definitely go with this. [name]Ruby[/name] is cute, but it sounds TOO cutesy when put with [name]Etta[/name]
