Etta or Eve? Pregnant and looking for feedback!

Just had a positive pregnancy test! These hypothetical names and polls are not so hypothetical any more :white_heart:

  • Henrietta “Etta” Rose
  • Eve Winifred

0 voters

(These are all honor names)

I’d love to hear your thoughts and why you like one over the other. You can be honest- I like constructive feedback.

When I thought it was [name_f]Etta[/name_f] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f] I was going to come on here and say [name_f]Etta[/name_f]. However now that I see [name_f]Etta[/name_f] is only a nn my vote is for [name_f]Eve[/name_f]. [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] seems a tad to much R for me in comparison to [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] and just as full name combo in general I like the pairing both visually and audibly of [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] to [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]

I prefer [name_f]Etta[/name_f] to [name_f]Eve[/name_f], but I prefer [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] to [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I’m also not a huge fan of [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f], but I like [name_f]Etta[/name_f] a lot. So my ultimate vote would be [name_f]Etta[/name_f] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f].

Thank you for this feedback! It’s so nice to hear your thoughts. For some extra info- I have a formal name that I never use (most people don’t even know what my formal name is), but I’ve always loved having an alternative/backup/formal name. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband also has a formal name that he never uses. In this tradition, we’d always call her just “Etta”.

I totally get what you mean by there being a lot of “R” sounds in [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I didn’t hear it before, but now I do. Maybe [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] would be another option?

I’ve also played with the idea of [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], but don’t love that her initials would be EMO.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] the suggestion of [name_f]Etta[/name_f] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]. It’s definitely on the table!

Congratulations!

[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] is definitely my favourite. [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is such a beautiful name sleek, understated, graceful, has the lovely meaning ‘life’ and looks visually gorgeous. Always been a fan. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] makes a lovely middle name for [name_f]Eve[/name_f]. Adds this homespun vintage vibe to the name feels unexpected and I love the meaning ‘blessed peacemaking’ I like how the whole name translates as ‘life’s blessed peacemaker’ almost like this little one is blessed to your life to create peace. Feels so spectacular and holy.

Anyways as you can see love [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]

good luck :sparkles:

@lillian85 I love [name_f]Eve[/name_f], but if you’re open to it, I would go with just [name_f]Etta[/name_f]. It’s such a beautiful and underrated name. And [name_f]Etta[/name_f] Rose!! If [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] is the name that is most special to you, of course go with that. But I’d go with [name_f]Etta[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]!

first of all, congratulations!! i hope everything goes well :heart_hands:

i prefer henrietta “etta” rose over eve winifred for a couple of reasons. first of all, i think henrietta rose has a better flow compared to eve winifred, which just feels a little bit choppy. plus, i also adore the nn etta, it’s so sweet and lively! if you’re open to suggestions i’ll say that i love the idea of henrietta rose, henrietta eve, winifred rose and winifred eve!. honestly, both combos are lovely and you can’t go wrong with either :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I love [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] but I prefer [name_f]Eve[/name_f] to [name_f]Etta[/name_f] and strongly prefer [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] to [name_f]Rose[/name_f] in the middle. I feel like [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is extremely common in the middle so it feels really blah to me but if its an honor name that would change my opinion.
