I love [name]Etta[/name]! I think it’s a wonderful underused vintage name. It’s also soft and sweet at the same time.
I also think of the late Etta James, and I was a huge fan of Etta/her music!
I love it! I have a Great Aunt named [name]Etta[/name] [name]Mae[/name] and think [name]Etta[/name] is a great name!
I always think of [name]Etta[/name] [name]James[/name] ( which for me is a good association)
What are your other kids names?
I like [name]Etta[/name] but it would depend on the sib set for me!
My daughters are [name]Olive[/name] and [name]Hero[/name] and my son is [name]Caius[/name].
[name]How[/name] does [name]Etta[/name] fare? My biggest qualm is how nicknamey she seems alongside the others…also our surname is a noun, kind of. Think ‘Bigbury’ or ‘Keystone’ and I am sliiiiightly worried kids will pick up on the literal ‘ate a key stone’ similarity. Might be overthinking?
I think [name]Etta[/name] would sound find with your other kids!
Neither of your girls have names with obvious nn’s ( except maybe Oli for [name]Olive[/name])… and i think [name]Etta[/name] can stand on its own as a name!
As for your surname… kids will find ANYTHING and EVEYTHING to make fun of/laugh at names! So [name]Etta[/name] “keystone” isnt bad at all!
I love it! It’s sweet & vintagey. Fresher than [name]Emma[/name] or [name]Ella[/name], but that same simplicity that I love!
The more I hear it, the more I love it. I have a character in the novel I’m working on right now named [name]Marietta[/name] nn [name]Etta[/name]. It feels sweet and vintage and I just love it.
[name]Love[/name] it and think it goes well with your other kids!
Thanks for all the replies- middle name will probably be [name]Penelope[/name], so she’d be [name]Etta[/name] [name]Nell[/name] as a nickname, if anything. Quite drawn to that idea.
I haven’t been majorly invested in nicknames with any of the kids, though!
