Today I have fallen in love with Etta. It’s never popped into my head for a long long LONG time.
Do you think they this “old lady name” could start to be considered fresh as it hasn’t been used much in a while, or think it would be a cute old lady name on a baby or child? I feel like there is a difference between the cute old lady names on baby’s trend on NB, and between names being so old that they aren’t considered old but fresh, so I want to hear some takes! Like I think it’s a fresher take on the name Ella
I think [name_f]Etta[/name_f] is very fresh! Maybe it’s because I’ve never met (or heard of) an elderly [name_f]Etta[/name_f], but I think of it as a fresh vintage choice rather than a dated name. Plus its similarity to [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Emma[/name_f] makes it feel modern. The only “older” connection I have with the name is [name_f]Etta[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u], but that association feels more cool and musical rather than old/dated.
[name_f]Etta[/name_f] is gorgeous and bright!! I’ve actually seen quite a few insta folk with little Ettas!
[name_f]Etta[/name_f] is totally fresh and very sparky and bright!
Definitely a cool retro name, it reentered the Top 1000 in the US a couple of years ago (along with several other Etta/Ette names), and just look at its trajectory in [name_u]England[/name_u] and [name_m]Wales[/name_m] in recent years!
I think [name_f]Etta[/name_f] is fabulous, and the connection to [name_f]Etta[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] makes it even more so
I love [name_f]Etta[/name_f], I don’t see it as an old lady name at all, I don’t know any old ladies called [name_f]Etta[/name_f], it feels very fresh to replace the more popular [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f].
