Etulina or Etulaina (surnames, can't find a meaning!)

[name]Hi[/name] Ladies and gents,

I don’t know if the rest of you do this, but I love looking through Pinterest for international names (first and surnames) and find some pretty unique ones! I am still on the hunt for the (one day, I hope!) little girl name to pair nicely with my son’s name [name]Atticus[/name]. I don’t have “hard and fast rules,” but it would be nice to find a name with “a” and “u” in it (both my husband, me and my son have this “underlying theme”). To top it off, both his girl cousins have names that start with “E” ([name]Elise[/name] and [name]Emma[/name]), so it would be nice to a name that fits this as well (again, not hard and fast rule, but something I look out for:)

Anyway, found this as a surname on Pinterest:

Etulina

Has anyone heard of this? Know a meaning?

Never did hear about it. Googling the handful of results seem to tie to Spanish, also some [name]German[/name]. Etul as a possible masculine related form has hits in lots of different languages.

For your criteria (starts with E, contains A and U) what comes to mind off the top of my head are

[name]Elula[/name]
[name]Emmanuelle[/name] (might be too close to [name]Emma[/name] though)
[name]Eulalia[/name]
[name]Eulalie[/name]

I know a girl named Eutimia which is not a common name on the US.

To me, I’d worry this might be mispronounced, Et tu, [name]Lina[/name]?

But that shouldn’t shouldn’t stop you if you love it.

Personally, I think you could do better with [name]Atticus[/name]'s sister since you have bold naming tastes.

Thanks! I am exploring all avenues, I always had Atticus’ name picked out, I just can’t seem to find “the one” for a girl:) I have even thought of a double-barrel name…struggling!

Eulalia has been suggested alot…it is a very pretty name, but it just doesn’t seeem like “the one”

I know, it’s almost harder to pick a second great name than a first great name. You’ll come up with it. And maybe it’s Etulina, sounds elvish.

you could search for “au” combos
[name]Pauline[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name] <—nice
Audrey
etc…

Or find any name with a “u” and it will probably have or can have an a
Louisa
Lucia - < my favorite of this list
Susanna
etc
