Not an issue in my eyes. If it spelled out something like bad, bum, poo, etc that would be an issue, but not [name_f]Eva[/name_f]. Especially as she’d have another initial for her last name so she’d be E.V.A._. [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Vittoria[/name_f] [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] is gorgeous, I wouldn’t throw it away because her initials spell her first name.
Thank you! It’s been really tearing me up because I love [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Vittoria[/name_f] [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] but I wasn’t sure how wearable the initials are
I don’t think so. My [name_m]Jack[/name_m] combo used to be [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Cole[/name_m] ([name_m]JAC[/name_m]), which I rarely noticed, but most people I brought it up to thought it was cool (now that I think of it, it is now [name_m]JAK[/name_m]–[name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u] Kuiper. Oops!). Is [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] out as a FN for you, then? [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Vittoria[/name_f] [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] is gorgeous, and I wouldn’t have even noticed the [name_f]EVA[/name_f] thing, had you not pointed it out to me.
Good luck!
ETA: I’m sure, now that I think of it, if she’s ever required to use her initials, she can just opt for a couple of them. I mean, some might opt for them all, like J. R. R. Tolkien, but she could chose to be E. V. [name_m]Foster[/name_m] or EAF or EVF or E. [name_f]Vittoria[/name_f] [name_m]Foster[/name_m] or whatever, depending on one of the circumstances. Unless you emphasize that she’s E. V. A. [[name_m]Foster[/name_m]], I really don’t foresee it being a huge issue.
@ashthedreamer:
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Cole[/name_m] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u] Kuiper both sound very handsome!!!
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] isn’t out - but I’m 5+ years from having kids that I want to keep my options open and not limit myself to liking the same names (then eventually tiring of them aha).
Thank you for your kind words on E.V.A - I’m glad you like it! You’ve got such a great taste in names it’s such a compliment aha.
And that’s very true with the choice of initials! I don’t really want to emphasise that’s she’s [name_f]EVA[/name_f] at all. That’s her choice.
Thank you so much!
I don’t think it’s a big deal, especially since it just kind of happened (rather than you putting a combo together for this purpose). My #1 girl name combo does this but the surname initial helps spell the name (the first name is [name_f]Lila[/name_f] and with the two middle names, the initials spell L.I.L.A.), and while that was never my goal, I also don’t mind it. A lot of the time, I find I just use my first and last initials, so in my combo’s case she could just use L.A. and it wouldn’t be commented upon.
I don’t see any issues, as a PP said it’s not like they spell something unpleasant.
I knew an older lady called [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_m]Young[/name_m] so her initials were [name_f]IVY[/name_f] and she thought it was hilarious
I wouldn’t worry about it. The initials are there and kind of fun, if she wants to emphasize it, and if not, then just ignore it by not including the middle initial on things, or whatever. It isn’t as if people could even make puns or jokes about it – worst case scenario is that they think it’s cheesy, and possibly make an insult based on that, if they are so tactless as to do so.
One of our kids ended up with initials EAT, just because those were the names we loved the most. We’ve only ever had a crazy aunt comment on it (you know, the kind who is 100 and everyone knows as the eccentric in the family), and another guy who thinks he’s so funny commented on E.T. (and that movie is so old, I was surprised he even though of it. I sure hadn’t).
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Vittoria[/name_f] [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] is completely lovely, and with the surname it wouldn’t be just E V A anyway. I think it’s more than fine.
I think its kind of cute actually. When I was younger I knew a kid named [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] T… and his initials spelt M.A.T. and in kindergarten that made him the coolest kid.
