Eva

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all,

I really love the name [name_f]Eva[/name_f] (ee-vuh pronunciation) and I’m trying to find a longer full name for it.

I have [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] on my list, but I really want to find something more unexpected. Something that you wouldn’t automatically think [name_f]Eva[/name_f] would be the nickname but once it’s said, it makes sense. Get it? Or did I just confuse you all:D

At the moment, I’m LOVING [name_f]Reverie[/name_f] but I don’t think I can commit with the difference in pronunciation ([name_f]Reverie[/name_f] makes me think of the ev-uh pronunciation rather than ee-vuh).

Thanks for you help with this, sorry for the novel:D

Hmm, that’s an interesting one!

[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] (might be kind of a stretch)
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Evelina[/name_f]
[name_f]Geneva[/name_f]
[name_f]Genoveva[/name_f]

I had [name_f]Sunniva[/name_f] (SOO-nee-va) nn [name_f]Eva[/name_f] on my list once

I love the idea of [name_f]Evanna[/name_f] as a more unique full name for [name_f]Eva[/name_f]. There’s also [name_f]Geneva[/name_f], Evora (EHV-uh-rah), [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] (ehv-AN-thee), [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f], and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f].

Though if I met an [name_f]Eva[/name_f] with the full name [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], I would definitely find that unexpected! I would assume [name_f]Eva[/name_f] was a full name rather than a nickname for anything, and I’m not around children much so I’d be surprised to hear [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] at all

Same pronunciation of the “e” sound:

Anavieve, [name_u]Akiva[/name_u], [name_f]Aviva[/name_f]
[name_f]Evette[/name_f]/[name_f]Yvette[/name_f], [name_f]Evaine[/name_f]/[name_f]Yvaine[/name_f], [name_f]Evonne[/name_f]/[name_f]Yvonne[/name_f], [name_f]Eliseva[/name_f]/[name_f]Elisheva[/name_f], [name_f]Evangelique[/name_f], [name_f]Evadne[/name_f], [name_f]Evening[/name_f]
[name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]
[name_u]Kiva[/name_u]/Kivia/[name_f]Kevionna[/name_f]/Kivana
[name_f]Neva[/name_f]/[name_f]Neve[/name_f]
[name_u]Reeve[/name_u]/[name_f]Reva[/name_f]
[name_u]Stevie[/name_u]
[name_f]Viva[/name_f]

Different pronunciation:

[name_f]Beverly[/name_f], [name_u]Bevin[/name_u], Bevony
[name_f]Chevonne[/name_f]/[name_f]Shevonne[/name_f]
[name_u]Devon[/name_u], [name_f]Devona[/name_f], [name_f]Devina[/name_f], Devony, [name_f]Devora[/name_f]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_u]Everest[/name_u], [name_u]Eleven[/name_u], [name_f]Eviana[/name_f], [name_f]Evony[/name_f], [name_f]Elisaveta[/name_f], [name_f]Edvina[/name_f], [name_f]Elvina[/name_f], [name_f]Elvira[/name_f], Evolet
[name_u]Forever[/name_u]
[name_f]Heaven[/name_f]/[name_f]Heavenly[/name_f]
[name_f]Leverne[/name_f], [name_f]Levinia[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeva[/name_f], Miverva
[name_u]Nevada[/name_u], [name_f]Neveah[/name_f], [name_f]Nevara[/name_f]
[name_f]Revekka[/name_f], [name_f]Revkah[/name_f]
[name_f]Sevannah[/name_f], [name_u]Seven[/name_u], [name_f]Sevilla[/name_f], Stevanie, [name_f]Seva[/name_f]

You could also use the middle name in conjunction with the first to produce the nickname using the initials E.V. (pronounced by the initials, so the pronunciation of the E in the first name doesn’t matter so much) – for example [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Vienna[/name_f], [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Verity[/name_f], [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Viola[/name_f], etc.

You don’t have to have a name that only has the [name_f]EEve[/name_f] sound. My friends named their baby [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] with the short E sound and called her [name_f]Eva[/name_f] with a long E sound. I think it’s oretty common and accepted. I wouldn’t blink twice. Plus, [name_f]Reverie[/name_f] ends in the long EE sound so [name_f]EEva[/name_f] still totally works [name_f]IMO[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Eva[/name_f] best as a stand alone name, not a nickname, but if you really want a more elaborate name I think [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] your best option.
