Evan James

I am having a caesarean in a few hours and need to finalise baby boy names. I already have a little boy called [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. I am thinking [name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] if this is a boy ([name_f]Claire[/name_f] if it’s a girl, middle name to be decided). Can you think of any reason not to name a boy [name_u]Evan[/name_u]?

Those who have an [name_u]Evan[/name_u] - do others like it/find it easy to spell etc? I like that it can’t really be shortened. It’s not super popular in Australia where we live.

My sister in law just called her baby [name_u]Owen[/name_u] and I was debating whether [name_u]Evan[/name_u] and [name_u]Owen[/name_u] are too similar but I’ve decided they are not (both Welsh names but my husband’s family has welsh heritage. Doesn’t have to be a Welsh name though). But I made the mistake of asking my mum about it and last night she said to me ‘[name_u]Evan[/name_u] rhymes with [name_m]Kevin[/name_m], when I tell people the baby’s name is [name_u]Evan[/name_u] will they think it’s actually [name_m]Kevin[/name_m]?’. I don’t like the name [name_m]Kevin[/name_m] at all (nor [name_u]Bevan[/name_u] for that matter!!!). This thought had crossed my mind but I didn’t think it was reason enough not to use the name. I mean sure, the odd person might mistake the name for [name_m]Kevin[/name_m] but I don’t think it would happen all the time??? We had discussed [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] but I’ve gone off it and although we have floated other names (byron, marcus) I think we both prefer [name_u]Evan[/name_u]. To be honest, finding boys names that fit my criteria (short, easy to pronounce/spell, not in top 20, not already taken by a friend or family, doesn’t start with P or L or end in ‘a’ or ‘er’ or ‘at’ because of our surname) is really hard!!! Help!!!

[name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] is great! Very handsome [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_u]Evan[/name_u] sound great together!

I have noticed that there are some names I love but really do not like another name that rhymes with it! Not sure why that is, doesn’t seem to make sense!

However, I do not thing [name_u]Evan[/name_u] will be a difficult name to wear and I’m sure people will miss-hear it as [name_m]Kevin[/name_m] every now and then but [name_f]EVERY[/name_f] name is miss-heard at some point. I don’t think that is avoidable or a big deal.

Wishing you all the best with your upcoming delivery!

[name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] is a fantastic name!

[name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] is a very handsome name and pairs well with [name_m]Leo[/name_m].

The fact that it rhymes with [name_m]Kevin[/name_m] is just silly, lots of names rhyme with other names but they are completely separate and have nothing to do with each other.

If you love it then use it
