What are your opinions on the name [name_m]Evander[/name_m]? And do you think the nickname [name_u]Van[/name_u] would work? Also, what would you name any siblings?
I really like [name_m]Evander[/name_m] and I think the nn [name_u]Van[/name_u] is really cool.
I have to think more about sibling names. My initial thoughts are [name_f]Junia[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_m]Lucian[/name_m], and [name_m]Leopold[/name_m].
I don’t know why but I really dislike names like [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] or [name_m]Evander[/name_m], probably because I don’t consider them as real names, just as I don’t consider occupational names ending in -er with obvious meanings as real names.
For [name_m]Evander[/name_m] I prefer the nickname [name_u]Evan[/name_u].
[name_m]Evander[/name_m] is a lovely name with a great meaning.
I really like [name_m]Evander[/name_m], he’s been on my list for years. I love the meaning, and I think it’s a strong name, not harsh sounding, unusual but usable. [name_u]Van[/name_u] works fine as a nn, although it’s not my style personally. I’d imagine [name_m]Evander[/name_m] would have siblings [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m], [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m], [name_m]Isidore[/name_m], [name_f]Flavia[/name_f], [name_f]Octavia[/name_f], [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f].
I like [name_m]Evander[/name_m]. It’s a good, strong name, familiar but not common and with a long history. I don’t like the nickname [name_u]Van[/name_u], but I don’t like [name_u]Evan[/name_u] either. The only nickname I like is Ev/[name_f]Evie[/name_f], but I understand why that might not be suitable for a real child.
I like [name_m]Evander[/name_m] a lot. NN [name_u]Van[/name_u] works, it may actually be adorable on the right kid. If you want another NN option I would consider Ender.
I absolutely adore the name [name_m]Evander[/name_m] & I think [name_u]Van[/name_u] works fine as a NN. I haven’t figured out any sibling names either.

I’ve never thought of the nn [name_u]Van[/name_u] for it, but I think it’s adorable and definitely works!
I adore the name [name_m]Evander[/name_m] with the nickname [name_u]Van[/name_u]! It’s definitely on my list! I love that it’s masculine and strong without being too harsh (most the boy’s names I like I worry are too soft.)
I like the idea of the nickname Ender but also that seems a little dark for a real boy in my opinion lol. You could also call him [name_m]Anders[/name_m] though they aren’t linguistically related.
My only problem with the name is the guy who bit off [name_m]Mike[/name_m] [name_u]Tyson[/name_u]'s ear (but that association doesn’t ruin it for me) and that I also really like the name [name_m]Anders[/name_m].
I always thought the names [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], [name_f]Azaria[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_u]Max[/name_u], [name_m]Raphael[/name_m], [name_m]Jupiter[/name_m] go well with [name_m]Evander[/name_m].
My mom is friends (well at least fb friends) with a woman who has a son evander. Her daughter’s name is [name_m]Ad[/name_m]@lynn.
