Evangaline or Severine

I’ve asked before about using the nm [name]Ever[/name] for a girl and have settled on it but i was also looking for a full name that i could use and I’ve finally settled on two names but can’t choose between the two. They’re Evangaline and [name]Severine[/name]. Im kinda of leaning towards [name]Severine[/name] but am wondering if its too harsh but I’m also not 100% sold on Evangaline. The name would be in a subset with [name]Gideon[/name].

[name]Evangeline[/name] is beautiful and so many nn options in it. It’s one of my favorite names out there. [name]Severine[/name] sounds harsh to me- like severing.

[name]Love[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]! With [name]Severine[/name] I just think severed limbs.

[name]Angel[/name] on one shoulder, devil on the other eh?
[name]Severine[/name] is Ancient [name]Roman[/name], but it makes me think of the [name]Velvet[/name] Underground’s “[name]Venus[/name] in Furs,” so it’s got a bit of an S&M vibe going on. That said, I still think it’s a beautiful, edgy, rock&roll name.
[name]Evangeline[/name] has a lovely, lacy sound. My ex-boyfriend dated an [name]Evangeline[/name]. She played the cello and was insanely beautiful. I was jealous of her angelic name, which also made her easy to scorn because it has a goodytwoshoes, religious vibe.

[name]Evangeline[/name]!! It is beautiful and sweet. [name]Severine[/name] means stern and all I can see is severe.

I think that’s the problem trying I decide, they’re practically opposites. [name]How[/name] do you guys think the two names play with [name]Gideon[/name]?

I think that [name]Gideon[/name] and [name]Evangeline[/name] make a great sibset  [name]Severine[/name] sound very harsh to me but I can see the appeal.

I’m such an [name]Ever[/name] fan, I see it as vastly superior on its own. [name]Evangeline[/name] is slightly preferable but doesn’t lend itself naturally to the nn. Your sibset is great

[name]Gideon[/name] and [name]Evangeline[/name] go perfectly together. Excellent sib set.

I think [name]Severine[/name] is sassy, cool and confident and [name]Ever[/name] would be a really cute nn.
(I might be the only one but I rather dislike [name]Evangeline[/name]. It’s too evangelical and saccharine sweet for me.)

Would you spell it Evangaline or [name]Evangeline[/name]? The answer would strongly influence my opinion.

I hadn’t really thought if it but I do like the way [name]Evangeline[/name] looks as opposed to Evangaline

Perhaps, [name]Seraphine[/name] / [name]Serafine[/name] would be a suitable midpoint between the two names that you picked.

I love [name]Severine[/name], and Hungry [name]Lucy[/name] has a song by that same name. [name]Evangeline[/name] is pretty rocking too.

[name]Evangeline[/name] is on my list too, so I’m biased. [name]Evangeline[/name] is very, very sweet (and soft and feminine and angelically bbeautiful). But right now, I think it’s so popular, at least here (nameberry). I totally hate Evangaline spelling. It’s [name]Angel[/name], not Angal.
On the other hand, I really like [name]Severine[/name]. It’s unusual, pretty, sounds clever and catchy. [name]Gideon[/name] and [name]Severine[/name] sounds ggreat together. (So I guess I’ll vote for [name]Severine[/name]).
I like the suggestion of [name]Seraphine[/name].

Thanks so much for all the suggestions everyone!
