Evangeline nn Yvaine. Can I use that?

So… I like [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_u]Angie[/name_u], [name_u]Angel[/name_u], and many other usual nicknames for [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], but I love [name_f]Yvaine[/name_f]. It’s just too short for my usual taste (I tend to prefer 3-4 syllables long), so I wonder if I can use it as a nickname instead. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it can works?

Now about the name itself… I use my middle name, [name_f]Angelina[/name_f], every now and then but not a lot, so I decide it is not narcissistic to use something this close for a future daughter. my current combos are:
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] [name_f]Faustina[/name_f]
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] Cythera -a twist from [name_f]Cytherea[/name_f] ([name_f]Aphrodite[/name_f]'s epithet)

The [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] part is fix since it’s honoring my mom, but not the second mn, Let me know what do you think. Thanks.

Okay I thought about it for a while and sure you can. At first I was like “what?”, they are whole and complete names on their own. Then I thought about it longer and figured that they are very similar and I could not imagine any parent using those very similar sounding names in a sibset. So they should surely be used only on one child.
[name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] may be a little longer (aesthetically) than a nickname I would envision and may not be the most natural one, but sure why not? [name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f] are both 2 syllables (If I am counting correctly). It makes sense to me and I could get used to it.

Thats like me with Esmee nn [name_f]Maisie[/name_f].

It doesn’t seem like a natural nickname to me, but if you can make it catch on than go for it. I love [name_f]Evie[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], and the name gives a lot of nickname options. I think it would make more sense just to use [name_f]Yvaine[/name_f], but if it seems natural to you as a nickname for [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], you should use it.

Thanks for the replies.

Yeah, I am fully aware that [name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] is not a natural nickname for [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]. They are completely different names, lol. That is why I feel like I need berries opinion about it.

They should not be used in a sibset, I agree. I used to consider [name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] as a middle in a different combo, but I really love the way it sounds, I want to use it up front.

I like it! Yes, [name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] as a nn for Evangline isn’t the most natural, but they sound simirlar enough that it would easily catch on once you start calling her [name_f]Yvaine[/name_f]. I say go for it!

I think it’s too much of a stretch. [name_m]Just[/name_m] use [name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] if you love it.
