Eve - thoughts on this name

[name]Hi[/name] everyone,

I was wondering your thoughts on the name [name]Eve[/name]…[name]Do[/name] people like it on its own? Does the biblical connotation still haunt this name for you?

Any suggestions for names where [name]Eve[/name] would be the nickname?

Thanks for your contributions

I love love love the name [name]Eve[/name], particularly on its own. I don’t mind the Biblical association.

[name]Love[/name], love, love [name]Eve[/name]; I think of the time of day. I think its fine alone, simple, feminine, and sleek. The biblical connotation doesn’t bug me, and I’m [name]Roman[/name] Catholic.

I love [name]Eve[/name] as well. It definitely has a beautiful, mysterious feel when used on its own (as opposed to [name]Eva[/name] or [name]Evie[/name]) [name]IMO[/name]. [name]Eve[/name] is definitely one of my all time favorites!

For some reason I don’t really like it

Maybe [name]Evan[/name] could work for [name]Eve[/name] as a nn, If you wanted to go the unisex route (:

[name]Adore[/name] it! I really love short names that are clean and crisp. Plus it has the oomph of “v”. And in our google-search result society the name [name]Eve[/name] doesn’t google well because of [name]Christmas[/name] [name]Eve[/name], [name]New[/name] Year’s [name]Eve[/name], and other “eves”. I think this is a plus.

It’s one of my all time favorites as well. It would definitely be at the top of the list if I ever had a girl.

I prefer it on it’s own, but I do like it as a nn for [name]Genevieve[/name] or [name]Geneva[/name] as well as [name]Evelyn[/name]

[name]Love[/name] [name]Eve[/name]. [name]One[/name] of my favorites. So simple and elegant, yet evocative. So much history and femininity and redemption packed into three tiny letters, one simple syllable. I love the meaning too, and the v sound in the middle. It’s just awesome. Wished my husband liked it more.

I, too, am [name]Roman[/name] Catholic.

As a name, [name]Eve[/name] is the epitome of class and sophistication. I absolutely [name]LOVE[/name] it. It was near the very top of the list for future daughters. I mentioned this on another thread… I am picky about names being substantial enough, and [name]Eve[/name] fully qualifies.

[name]Eve[/name] is a lovely name and I usually don’t like short names for girls. It would also be a great nn if you wanted a longer name. I don’t think [name]Eve[/name] has a terrible Biblical connotation. [name]True[/name], there’s the fruit, but first woman and first mother is still a good connection in my eyes.

[name]One[/name] of my favourite names!!! I like the simplicity and elegance.

It’s OK, not crazy about it. [name]Love[/name] lots of biblical names but [name]Eve[/name] never appealed to me, prefer Havah
I love old movies so I think of “Poor [name]Eve[/name]” (All About [name]Eve[/name])
