[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone,
I’m indian punjabi and my husband is english. We are looking for a name that encorporates both cultures.
We saw the name eveleen which is apparently a punjabi name which I’ve never heard of before. I’m starting to like it but I’m unsure as I’m thinking many people will ask why it’s not evelyn?
What do you guys think? Any other name suggestions are very welcome. We also like gaia and thea and [name_f]Aura[/name_f] and [name_u]Romy[/name_u] but these names dont mean anything in punjabi but I feel that both cultures could pronounce them.
Thanks!!!

I like [name_f]Gaia[/name_f], [name_f]Aura[/name_f] and [name_u]Romy[/name_u].
[name_f]Eveleen[/name_f] isn’t bad. There is a [name_m]German[/name_m] name, [name_f]Evelin[/name_f], that is kind of similar. [name_m]Said[/name_m] eh-veh-leen. But the eh is long and almost like an ay but not quite.
I don’t know much about Punjabi names but I like these names that are used in [name_f]India[/name_f]:
[name_f]Anjali[/name_f]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]
[name_u]Kali[/name_u]
Then these work in both cultures too:
[name_f]Tina[/name_f]
[name_f]Lina[/name_f]
[name_u]Mina[/name_u]
[name_f]Mira[/name_f]
[name_f]Ananya[/name_f]
(or [name_f]Meera[/name_f], [name_f]Teena[/name_f], [name_f]Leena[/name_f], [name_f]Meena[/name_f] etc.)

[name_f]Eveleen[/name_f] is pretty but I can’t find much about it online. There’s [name_f]Avleen[/name_f] too, which might be more distinctive from [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], but still familiar
Maybe…
[name_f]Amara[/name_f]
[name_f]Suraya[/name_f]
[name_f]Jazleen[/name_f]
Aurora/Arora

[name_f]Eveleen[/name_f] is very pretty, though I do prefer [name_f]Gaia[/name_f], [name_f]Thea[/name_f], [name_f]Aura[/name_f] or [name_u]Romy[/name_u]. To me, they bring something more than the fairy princess vibe I get from [name_f]Eveleen[/name_f]. But Bringer Of [name_u]Light[/name_u] is a stunning meaning.
Here’s some other ideas
[name_f]Hira[/name_f]
[name_f]Neha[/name_f]
[name_f]Leela[/name_f]
Gianleen
Janaiah
Janeesa
[name_m]Jona[/name_m]
[name_f]Katri[/name_f], [name_u]Katriel[/name_u]
Surinder
Tatleen

Not keen on [name_f]Eveleen[/name_f]. For some reason I want to pronounce it as Eev-leen which sounds like Evil-een. There’s something about it which is just a little off, too many E’s perhaps? [name_f]Gaia[/name_f] and [name_u]Romy[/name_u] are lovely.

So funny, I grew up with a girl named [name_f]Eveleen[/name_f]! She was of Chinese descent but interestingly pronounced it [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]. I like it.
