Evelyn and ??

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Berries! I’m posting this for a co-worker. She is due in [name_u]December[/name_u] with a little girl and is leaning toward the name [name_f]Corinne[/name_f]. However she has some reservations about the name because [name_f]Corinne[/name_f]’s older sister is [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], and she’s concerned that [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] sounds too much like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you agree?
If yes, any ideas for a name to pair with [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]? If no, ideas for a mn for [name_f]Corinne[/name_f]?

I think [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] & [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] make for a lovely sister duo. I don’t find them too similar in sound or look at all. The ending of each name is spelled differently, and the emphasis in sound is on different syllables in each name, so they really don’t sound repetitive at all. In fact, if it hadn’t have been mentioned, I wouldn’t have even noted that the both end in the same IN sound.

As for middles, I think it depends on what [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]'s middle is and/or what other names and styles she enjoys, but [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] & [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] were the first combos to come to mind.

I don’t think think they’re similar but suit nicely as sisters

Are we pronouncing “core-een”?

I Like both names and I don’t think they are too close. You might also want to consider

[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Inga[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Sadie[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Ida[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Frida[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Esther[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Ada[/name_f]

I don’t think they are too alike for sisters, though they do both end in the N sound. I think [name_f]Cora[/name_f] is a great alternative if she’s looking to avoid that repetition, but otherwise, I think [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] sound quite nice together. Aside from [name_f]Cora[/name_f], I like [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Colette[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Julia[/name_f], and [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] as sisters for [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u].

I think middle names are the nicest when the parents use a name that is meaningful to them, whether it honors someone they admire or love, or just has a meaning they like. Kind of hard to do that for someone else without any other context, but I think [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] and any of the suggestions work with lots of different styles of middle name.

[name_f]Corinne[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]

I hope you like some of these

I guess I’m in the minority, but to be perfectly honest their endings are a little too matchy for my taste. Both lovely names and I get why she loves them both. Since I’m the only one seeming to see it as a problem, clearly it’s a non-issue for most people so she should go for it.

That being said, she could also consider [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] or [name_f]Corinna[/name_f]. I personally love [name_f]Corinna[/name_f]. [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Corinna[/name_f] sound gorgeous. That extra ‘a’ sound tacked onto the end makes all the difference to me.

[name_f]Corinne[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Corinne[/name_f] [name_f]Esme[/name_f]
[name_f]Corinna[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Corinna[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Coralie[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Coralie[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]

They sound lovely together in my opinion! They definitely don’t look matchy, the endings are spelt different. [name_f]Coralie[/name_f]/[name_f]Cora[/name_f] could be an alternative if it’s really bothering her.

Thanks for everyone’s input and the great suggestions. She’s loving [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Corinna[/name_f] as alternatives!
