Ever had a dream about your children's names?

I remember reading a thread about this once, but I can’t find it! Anyway…I had a dream last night that I had a daughter named [name]Molly[/name]. I have nothing against the name [name]Molly[/name], but I’ve never actually considered it. I just thought it was kind of funny
Anyone else had a dream like that? Anyone end up using the name from their dream?

I’m only thirteen, so I don’t have any children  and I’ve never had a dream like that before, but I do have dreams where people have very interesting names. It’s funny because many I rather dislike! ([name]Zephyr[/name], [name]Aveline[/name], [name]Yanna[/name]…)
Anyway, it would be very weird to hear that someone actually used a name from their dreams! (literally!)

Rarely do people have names in my dreams, so I thought it was quite interesting when I had a dream not too long ago where there was a person who distinctly had a name. I even commented on it in my dream. His name was [name]Henry[/name] [name]Warren[/name] and I said that I loved the name [name]Henry[/name] and that [name]Warren[/name] reminded me of rabbits because of a rabbit warren. He said it was his grandfather’s name. It would be quite interesting to meet someone with that name. Question: when you dream, do people usually have distinctive names?

I have dreamed about names a lot recently. (I’m trying to get pregnant)

The funniest - not funny in the dream, only after I woke up - was a dream where someone gave me my baby at the hospital and she was already named. They said her name was [name]Caitlin[/name]/[name]Katelyn[/name]/[name]Kaitlyn[/name], telling me out loud. I was surprised, as in the dream I had been planning something else, but I didn’t mind it, but immediately wanted to check how they had spelled it, as I only like one spelling! lol

I more recently dreamed I had twins named [name]Heath[/name] and [name]Claire[/name]. [name]Heath[/name] is pretty much my favourite boy’s name (to my husband it’s just okay) and [name]Claire[/name] is his favourite girl’s name (I like it, but not my favourite). And as I think about it, that would be pretty perfect.

I also once dreamed, a while ago, I had seven sons with elaborate Biblical names. This isn’t ever going to happen, but I didn’t mind the name.

About ten or twelve years ago - so as a teenager, long before I met my husband - I dreamed I had a bunch of children. It felt right and natural, but I didn’t dream their names - except for the youngest, a little girl with ruby red hair, named [name]Ruth[/name], which was my grandmother’s name. I woke up going “wow” but I don’t think I shall ever have as many children as that, and I would be pretty shocked if with our genetics, she had red hair!

I have before but only remember one of the names now. I dreamed I had a baby girl with Down Syndrome and her name was [name]Selah[/name]. It was such a lifelike dream! My 4-year old was in it, although she was teen-aged in the dream and I was older as well. We were sitting on a couch and I had two other little girls, they looked about 8 and 5 and I was holding the baby and we were all trying to get her to laugh. It has stuck with me just because it did feel so real.

Hmm. That’s never happened to me. Maybe it’s because I don’t want kids. I’ve heard about pregnant women using names they’ve thought of in dreams before, which would be pretty cool.

Not for me, but there’s this woman on youtube who has a channel called youparent and one of her daughter’s names came from a dream. It’s actually a really interesting story. You can find it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnJmLpMiJH4&feature=g-u-u. Go to the 16 minute mark.

I think I might have started that thread (though it was over a year ago)! When I was pregnant with my daughter I had a dream in which I told someone her name was Alora. I even spelled it out for the person in the dream. The funniest thing for me was I swear I’d never heard that name before the dream. Obviously, I must have subconsciously, because I went online and discovered it was a real name.

We played with the idea of using it for her middle, but didn’t. Then during my third pregnancy, we considered it again, because as I told my husband, “In the dream I said it was my daughter’s name, but I didn’t say which daughter.” Of course, #3 turned out to be a boy. If I ever have another, I still might consider it for the middle spot.

And just to add - I knew someone who tried for a fourth after 3 boys, based on the husband’s dream from years before that he was wrestling with 4 boys. It was like he had to fulfill the prophecy or something. They did end up having a fourth, though I’m sure you can guess the ending - it was a girl.

I’m only a teenager but I have had one dream where I had two daughters named [name]Jade[/name] and [name]Luna[/name]. It was a weird dream and [name]Jade[/name] and [name]Luna[/name] are totally NMS but the little girls in my dream were so cute that they have grown on me.

I’ve had several dreams about my future babies! haha.

In one dream, I had this daughter, but none of my favorites fit her, so eventually I picked [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Ruth[/name] ([name]Ruth[/name] for my grandmother). I ended up going off of [name]Josephine[/name] for so long because of that dream! For some reason she ended up looking like a cabbage patch doll instead of a cute little baby, hahaha.

I had another dream where I had a little girl and named her [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Rachel[/name], and just before I woke up, I realized what an egregious error I had made, and I had just set to change her name legally to [name]Rachel[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Caroline[/name], and then I woke up. haha.

I had another dream that I adopted these two little girls in my church. They have fine names, but I felt they were too trendy for some reason, so I changed them from [name]Del[/name]@ney and Kyl3e to [name]Elena[/name] and [name]Kaia[/name]. At least they were more classy, but then I realized they were too exotic/spunky for me. haha. So I was thinking about changing them again, but then I woke up.

[name]Just[/name] a couple weeks ago I had a dream that I had the cutest little girl named [name]Olive[/name], and she turned around, covered head to toe in finger paint, with this wide grin on her face, and she shoves this finger-painted painting in my face, and she says, “Here, Mommy! I made this for you!” She looked exactly like I’ve always imagined my daughter would like like, so I’ve been crushing on [name]Olive[/name] hard lately! I’m thinking about swapping out [name]Olivia[/name] and going with [name]Olive[/name] instead.

I don’t have kids yet, so I obviously haven’t used a name from a dream, but I may one day, if I ever use [name]Olive[/name]!

Despite thinking about names so often while awake, I rarely dream about them.

While I was pregnant, I dreamed I gave birth, and my son looked like Cousin Itt from the Addams Family. In my dream, I caved to family pressure and put Itt on the birth certificate, but it (Itt?) was never a consideration in real life.

I did once dream I had twin girls named [name]Daisy[/name] and [name]Lydia[/name]. Of the two, I only like [name]Daisy[/name], but I do think they’re sweet together. My most recent name dream involved me rocking a baby girl who had “[name]Jennie[/name]” embroidered on her blanket. It wasn’t stated, but I knew her name was [name]Jennifer[/name], and I woke up thinking that–if you can move past how overused it was–it really is a lovely name. I like it more now then I did pre-dream, but I doubt I’d use it.

It’s happened before, but one that I remember particularly was one where I had a baby girl that I named [name]Luna[/name] [name]Claire[/name]. To make it all the more confusing, I also bought a Cocker Spaniel puppy in the same dream, which I named [name]Clare[/name] [name]Luna[/name]. I certainly wouldn’t give my daughter and a pet such similar names. I think I’d name the daughter [name]Claire[/name], but call the puppy [name]Luna[/name].
