I’ve been thinking about new names to add to my list, and I love nature names. A new one that came to mind was the name “[name_u]Elm[/name_u]”. For girls, it could be a unique alternative to all the “[name_f]El[/name_f]-” names, such as [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Elle[/name_f] or [name_f]Elsa[/name_f]. For boys, it could be an interesting, uncommon name in the Nature category, fitting in with other names, such as Alder, [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] & Oleander.
Have any of you ever met an “[name_u]Elm[/name_u]”? What was your initial reaction to the name?
I’ve never met an [name_u]Elm[/name_u], but I think it’s an interesting name! It may work better as a middle because while it’s beautiful on paper, it’s a bit hard to end on the ‘lm’ sound for me. I really want another vowel at the end to finish the ‘m’ sound, but [name_f]Elma[/name_f] is not nearly as pretty!
There are other ways to get that [name_u]Elm[/name_u] sound:
No, but I’d like to. It’s a nature name but a sturdy one - simple and solid enough to feel grounded, which many of them don’t to me. I think it works equally well on either gender, but I think I like it on a girl sliiiightly more.
