I am really trying to love this name but I’m just not quite there yet!
I love the way it looks and the fact that it is an Ev- name makes it a very trendy choice right now, but…
I think my problem with it is that it sounds quite harsh and so bot particularly feminine. When I say it out loud it sounds like someone with poor enunciation is saying “[name_f]Heather[/name_f]” really lazily!
I do like [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f] and [name_f]Evie[/name_f] though, they are just kinder to my ears. If you are going to use [name_f]Eve[/name_f]/[name_f]Evie[/name_f] as her nn anyway why dint you just go with one of them? What are your thoughts on [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]? That is a very pretty name and has the “[name_u]Ever[/name_u]” sound in but sounds a lot softer and more feminine to me.
This was on my very short list of names when I had my daughter five years ago. It is very pretty, but without all the bells and whistles. I would expect a girl named [name_u]Ever[/name_u] to be quiet and artistic. It really wasn’t the name for my daughter, who takes after her father and is energetic and silly.
[name_u]Ever[/name_u] isn’t a word I can grasp as a child’s name. It just lacks substance and looks like it’s missing some letters. Although they’re not my style, I could take [name_u]Everly[/name_u] or [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] as full names even though they’re both trendy choices. [name_u]Ever[/name_u] just reminds me of the fairy tale phrase “they lived happily ever after”. I don’t know an [name_u]Ever[/name_u] but the image I get is of a dreamy, imaginative, artistic girl with a somewhat quirky personality.
