Ever -- too popular, full names besides Everly (& other spellings), will it be dated?

I’ve really been liking the name [name_u]Ever[/name_u] lately – Maybe as a mn. I feel like it will be really dated in 20 years, tbh. Maybe EVer-[name_u]Brooke[/name_u]? Or is that too cliché? [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is something similar but I’m not religious. Does anyone have any other ideas for me?

Everly and all variants will be dated in the future, imo. As I remember NB predicted all [name_u]Ever[/name_u]- names will become a even bigger trend so I guess [name_u]Ever[/name_u] will be affected from that too.

Evren?

I’m inclined to agree that “ever” names will likely feel dated. I feel [name_u]Everly[/name_u] is likely to be the hardest hit, maybe because names ending in -ly can seem youthful ([name_f]Hailey[/name_f], [name_u]Bailey[/name_u], are nice names but always seem to be easier to wear as a child and in young adulthood than an adult IMO).

I wonder if names like [name_u]Evan[/name_u] will also see a surge might be less likely to feel dated, if only because it’s been around a lot longer. They are decidedly more ornate but in the same Ev family:

Evadne
[name_f]Evalina[/name_f]/Evaline
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]/Evangelina
[name_m]Everson[/name_m]/Eversen (I think these lean boy but could end up more green like [name_u]Emerson[/name_u]/Emersen)
[name_f]Evia[/name_f]

But if you love [name_u]Everly[/name_u], you should use it. The reality is that any name we give a child will be dated, it’s a decision made in a moment in time and I know so many of us would have used different names for that child if they had been born years before or later than their birthdate. Trends come and go, but loving a name is more important.

I agree that it will probably be dated in a few years.

I like [name_u]Ever[/name_u]! It’s sweet and has flair. [name_u]Ever[/name_u]-[name_u]Brooke[/name_u] is a bit much but I’ll suggest [name_u]Ever[/name_u] [name_u]Blair[/name_u], [name_u]Ever[/name_u] [name_f]Collette[/name_f], [name_u]Ever[/name_u] [name_u]Bryn[/name_u], [name_u]Ever[/name_u] [name_f]Luna[/name_f], [name_u]Ever[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_u]Ever[/name_u] [name_f]Adele[/name_f]

What about [name_f]Cosette[/name_f]?

Cosette makes me think corsets & women’s hygiene product- I have absolutely no idea how I got those associations.

Okay :ok_hand: I don’t think [name_u]Ever[/name_u] will be dated in the future. It sounds pretty cool to me.

While a lot of [name_u]Ever[/name_u]- names are probably going to be dated at some point in our lives, they’re incredibly nice names and you shouldn’t avoid a name you love simply due to it being common or inevitably going “out of style” at some point. I think my favorite [name_u]Ever[/name_u]- name is [name_u]Everett[/name_u], it means brave as a wild boar and is very unisex! NNs [name_u]Ever[/name_u], [name_f]Evie[/name_f], and Rett are all top-notch choices for a top-notch unisex full-name!

Is [name_u]Beverly[/name_u] dated now?
As far as [name_u]Ever[/name_u]/Everly ,I dont know, maybe it wont be but probably it will be. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t like it.

This is so cute. you could call her ever and then have a full name for when she gets older. [name_u]Everly[/name_u] would be cute but you might want to spell it dirrent because it is so popular so you could spell it everleigh So when you think ever is getting dating she can go by everly or a different name. [name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is cute and you could call her evie or ever.

Evangeline… It makes me think of “evangelical”, so as a trans person, I just can’t.
