Took a break from my names for a while, but now I’m back!
For years, I have thought that my grandfather’s eldest sister’s name was Everlena (pronounced [name_u]Ever[/name_u]-leen-uh), which I adore. I had only ever heard him speak it. But recently I discovered that her name was actually spelled [name_f]Evalena[/name_f]. That darn southern accent adding letters that aren’t even there!
While I do still love [name_f]Evalena[/name_f], I’m a little sad because I truly loved the look of [name_u]Ever[/name_u] and no one outside of my family would pronounce it the way we do.
Could you berries help me come up with other [name_u]Ever[/name_u] names to add to my list?
Thank you!
([name_m]Just[/name_m] as a side note: my grandfather also had a brother named [name_m]Orville[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] that went by [name_u]Jackie[/name_u]. There were some crazy names going on in my family in the 20’s!)
I feel a little silly that I didn’t even realize [name_u]Everett[/name_u] was an [name_u]Ever[/name_u] name and he’s my number one. Duh! Must be the lack of sleep!
I do like [name_u]Everly[/name_u]. It just sounds a tad trendy to me which makes me sad.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_u]Ever[/name_u] is lovely as well, but I’m trying to add longer names to my list. I have a tendency to only have short names and I need some variety.
Everine, Everina, and Everdina have had some usage history. Evermore is listed a few places as a word name, but feels a bit dramatic in a way [name_u]Ever[/name_u] doesn’t.
Everine is super interesting. I have to say though…I do say this a bit like [name_m]Wolverine[/name_m]. Which may be a good or a bad thing. Lol
Evermore is fabulous. It gives off an [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] [name_u]Poe[/name_u] vibe. If I knew for a fact my child would be broody I would definitely go for this. I’ll make it a GP!
[name_f]Every[/name_f] is cute and I probably should never add it to my list because I go a bit overboard with word names, but she’s on there now. Everie strangely appeals to me also.
I don’t know if anyone’s mentioned it yet, but [name_u]Everest[/name_u] is also a possibility. I don’t know about you, but for a girl, this rings like an echo off the mountaintops, with icy glades, frozen rivers, icicles dangling from the branches of trees, and snow glittering on the summit. Sort of sounds like a far off cousin of the [name_f]Snow[/name_f] [name_f]Queen[/name_f], or [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] from Frozen, no?
[name_f]Beverly[/name_f] certainly isn’t the vibe I’m going for! And it reminds me of all the hours I sat and groaned as a child while my father forced us to watch [name_f]Beverly[/name_f] Hillbillies.
Evera is interesting. Would it be pronounced eh-vair-uh? I will have to look up if it has any history. Thank you!
Oddly, Everie is really growing on me. I’ve seen [name_f]Reverie[/name_f] all over nameberry and never given it a chance, but something about Everie gets me!
I think Everlena, Everlyn, [name_u]Everly[/name_u], Everie, or Everson are great choices if you don’t want to go with [name_u]Ever[/name_u], which I personally think works well as a stand alone name.
[name_u]Ever[/name_u] is actually my nephew’s middle name and a family name (Norwegian, [name_u]Ever[/name_u] Everson).
[name_u]Everest[/name_u], while intriguing, is a bit ambitious. It would help if you are a mountaineer to name your child after the world’s highest. Same with Evermore – it’d be good to be a big [name_u]Poe[/name_u] fan to back that one up.
