So not sure if this particular one has been discussed before, but what are your thoughts on the pronunciation of Everard?
I had always thought it was EVER-ard. However, Speaking to my grandmother who personally has known some Everards in her time, she goes by EV-ruhd almost like Everett or Fred if said quite fast.
I always thought it was EVER-ard as well, but I could see how it could be more like evard if said quickly. I think most people’s initial reaction would be to say Ever-ard, so you might not have that many issues if that is the pronunciation you want. I’m not sure which one is more right.
I would say EVER-ard and I assume that that would be the initial pronunciation for a lot of people, but I can see how EV-ruhd would could also be. Personally, though, I wouldn’t worry about it because I think EVER-ard would happen more times than not because of [name_m]Gerard[/name_m] and the common knowledge of how to pronounce that.
