Everard pronunciation

So not sure if this particular one has been discussed before, but what are your thoughts on the pronunciation of Everard?

I had always thought it was EVER-ard. However, Speaking to my grandmother who personally has known some Everards in her time, she goes by EV-ruhd almost like Everett or Fred if said quite fast.

I always thought it was EVER-ard as well, but I could see how it could be more like evard if said quickly. I think most people’s initial reaction would be to say Ever-ard, so you might not have that many issues if that is the pronunciation you want. I’m not sure which one is more right.

I read it as Ever-ard but I pronounce it as Ev-red.

I would say EVER-ard and I assume that that would be the initial pronunciation for a lot of people, but I can see how EV-ruhd would could also be. Personally, though, I wouldn’t worry about it because I think EVER-ard would happen more times than not because of [name_m]Gerard[/name_m] and the common knowledge of how to pronounce that.

I’d say EV-er-ard or EV-rard, but I could see EV-rud!

Im guessing your grandmother is right if she’s actually known a few!

I would have guessed EVER-ard, but I’ve never met one!

Similiar to others, I thought it was Ever-ard though I’ve never met one

The three syllable pronunciation makes the most sense to me

I read it as “ever-ard” as well, although it comes out more like “ever-uhd”.
