[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everybody!! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I just found out that we are pregnant with our second child (our son [name_u]Owen[/name_u] is 2) and we are trying to decide on a name for a baby girl if we’re lucky enough to have one.
I initially picked the name [name_u]Everett[/name_u] because I think it is strong and you don’t hear of too many girls with it. We also both fell in love with the nickname [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and we definitely want to have that for our daughter.
[name_m]Even[/name_m] though I was the one who came up with it, I’m now having second thoughts! I think I might like a more feminine sounding name, but I’m not sure!
Would love to hear your thoughts or suggestions for names with the nickname [name_f]Evie[/name_f]!
I definitely prefer [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] to [name_u]Everett[/name_u] for a girl. Other ways to get to [name_f]Evie[/name_f]: [name_u]Everly[/name_u] (my personal favorite and I think it would go nicely with [name_u]Owen[/name_u]), [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] (though I think this one is probably too long and frilly compared to the classic simplicity of [name_u]Owen[/name_u]), [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_u]Ever[/name_u].
Clearly in the minority here, but I love [name_u]Everett[/name_u]! I think it sounds so cool and fresh for a girl. I’m not a big fan of [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u].
I looove the suggestions of [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] and [name_u]Everly[/name_u]!
Also will suggest [name_f]Eveline[/name_f]/Evelina, [name_u]Everest[/name_u], [name_f]Evrose[/name_f], [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f], [name_f]Evadne[/name_f], and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]!!
I adore [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]. I would love to (be able to) use it for a boy, but I like it for girls too.
On the unisex side, [name_u]Evan[/name_u] (like [name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] [name_m]Wood[/name_m]) nn [name_f]Eva[/name_f] or even [name_f]Evie[/name_f] might work and is perhaps not as ‘masculine’ sounding as [name_u]Everett[/name_u].
Evelyn. You don’t hear many girls with the name [name_u]Everett[/name_u] because it’s gaining popularity for boys. I know a boy with a name traditionally for girls (I actually know 2 girls with the name). He was always put on the girls’ list for things like PE class and he hated it. If I was making said lists and didn’t know the people, I’d put [name_u]Everett[/name_u] on the boys’ list.
I am not a fan of masculine names on girls and [name_u]Everett[/name_u] is all boy to me, so I would definitely go with [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]. [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is also a beautiful, classic name in its own right. I know someone who named their daughter [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and call her [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and it’s adorable.
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is a much better match with [name_u]Owen[/name_u]. (Tbh, if I heard [name_u]Owen[/name_u] & [name_u]Everett[/name_u] together, I’d assume they were brothers.)
If you want something less popular than [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], names such as [name_f]Eva[/name_f] or [name_f]Eve[/name_f] would work beautifully. Or if you want a more unique option something like [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f], Evanie, or [name_u]Evren[/name_u] might appeal. Though, I do honestly think you could just use ‘[name_f]Evie[/name_f]’ on its own if that’s the name you really love.
Ooh, this is tough! I think if I saw [name_u]Owen[/name_u] and [name_u]Everett[/name_u] together, I would assume they were brothers. But (very controversial I know!) I’ve always kind of thought [name_u]Everett[/name_u] would work well for a girl–with the “ett” ending and the nickname [name_f]Evie[/name_f] to seal the deal, it feels natural to me. If I’m honest though, I probably wouldn’t be brave enough to use it on a girl personally. [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is very pretty, but I also love the previous suggestion of [name_u]Everly[/name_u] for you–I think it goes great with [name_u]Owen[/name_u] and I like how it doesn’t repeat [name_u]Owen[/name_u]’s ending! [name_u]Everly[/name_u] called [name_f]Evie[/name_f] would be so sweet.
For a girl, [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is definitely my favorite! I also adore [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], [name_f]Evelina[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_f]Lavender[/name_f], [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], [name_f]Neve[/name_f] and [name_f]Minerva[/name_f].
Congratulations! I think both names are beautiful and would work well with [name_u]Owen[/name_u]. I have a friend whose name is [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and her twin brothers name is [name_u]Owen[/name_u](they were family names I think?). [name_f]My[/name_f] point being they go together well! With [name_u]Everett[/name_u], I think it would be so cute on a girl and strong as she grows up. On lists and stuff though people will probably assume she’s a boy so if that would bother you, definitely consider it. I love traditionally boy names on girls and plan on doing that for my daughter so honestly, go with your gut!
