But I hate my name. Well thats not true. I hate the name ON ME. It isn’t my name, I used to get in trouble as a child for saying my name was [name]Fenella[/name], or [name]Faline[/name], or Firefly. Which wasn’t lying, it was just hopeful! I changed it for 5 years to my middle name, [name]Heather[/name], and just confused people.
If people who really really really hate their nose can have it tweaked, why can’t I tweak my name?
I am happy to be CALLED [name]Christy[/name], I just want to KNOW it is not my full name.
I am thinking [name]Christyn[/name], [name]Christen[/name], [name]Crystal[/name], [name]Christiana[/name] or [name]Christelle[/name].
I tried for years to go by my middle name, well actually the shortened form of my middle name, [name]Christine[/name] shortened to [name]Chris[/name], because that felt more like me. I was a tomboy my entire childhood and to this day feel less like a [name]Laura[/name] and more like a [name]Christine[/name] or [name]Chris[/name]. To make it worse my first name is always being mispronounced (I am a LAR-ah, not a LOR-ah). I have given up and in a way am glad as I married a [name]Christopher[/name] who goes by the shortened form, [name]Chris[/name].
I never understood why I couldn’t just go by my middle name, it is still my name after all…
[name]Just[/name] writing to say I understand. I don’t think you’re crazy.
