[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_f]Evette[/name_f] works as a name?
[name_f]Evette[/name_f] is ultimately just a modern English variant of [name_f]Yvette[/name_f], so yes, it does work. Upon hearing the name, I’d automatically want to write it down as [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] though, as I’m far more familiar with it this way.
I too am more familiar with the spelling [name_f]Yvette[/name_f], though I think [name_f]Evette[/name_f] would work fine as well. It’s a pretty name.
I think it would work, you would have a lot of people mistaking it for [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] though. On a personal note, I like the spelling [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] better, it looks more complete to me, but [name_f]Evette[/name_f] is lovely as well
I think [name_f]Evette[/name_f] works, especially with how popular [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]/[name_f]Eva[/name_f]/[name_u]Everly[/name_u] type names are today. It would definitely be heard/understood as [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] at first, but I don’t think it would cause too many issues once people see it for the first time.
