Hey everyone!

I’ve always loved the nickname [name_f]Evie[/name_f] (pronounced evv-ie), but I can’t ever seem to find a full name that I love for it! [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is a family name, so that is a bonus. I love [name_f]Eva[/name_f] (when pronounced [name_f]Ava[/name_f]), but I would not like to give a child a name that no one can pronounce. I’m not crazy about [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], and the E sound is too prominent in [name_f]Eve[/name_f]! I also don’t like [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f].

Any suggestions will be appreciated! :slight_smile:

You could use it as a nickname for the initials E.V., like [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] in your signature :slight_smile:

There’s [name_u]Everly[/name_u] and its derivatives ([name_f]Everleigh[/name_f], etc) and [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f], neither of which I particularly care for. You could go way back to [name_f]Beverly[/name_f], or even use [name_u]Devon[/name_u]. Lastly there’s [name_f]Maeve[/name_f].

I love [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f] (eee-va)! I also love [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], but those seem a little long compared to your other kids names (assuming [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] were bolded in your signature for that reason, maybe not lol!)

I would actually pronounce [name_f]Evie[/name_f] eee-vie. So if you’re worried about pronunciation issues with [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f] might have some of the same problems.

Lastly, maybe you’d like [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]. I love it with the other names in your sig!

Well, [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] works nicely! Some other suggestions are [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f], [name_f]Evadne[/name_f], [name_u]Ever[/name_u], [name_u]Vivian[/name_u], and [name_f]Evanna[/name_f].
I love the suggestion of [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], as well as using initials. I also agree that you will run into pronunciation issues with [name_f]Evie[/name_f] pronounced Evv-ie, but I don’t think you’ll have to correct people more than once.

[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] seems like the natural choice given that it’s a family name and has the pronunciation you’re going for with [name_f]Evie[/name_f]. Other ideas: [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f], [name_u]Ever[/name_u], [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f]… [name_u]Everest[/name_u] or [name_u]Everett[/name_u] if you’re into unisex…
