So I really liked the name [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] for our next child if a girl to go with my daughters name [name_f]Eliana[/name_f]. Middle name would be [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
But I saw and like the name Maelyn recently. Not sure it goes well with [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] thought. What do you guys think of
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] Maelyn could I still use the nickname [name_f]Evie[/name_f]?
Does [name_f]Eva[/name_f] do well with [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] or should we stick with [name_f]Evelina[/name_f]???
Thanks!!!
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] goes very well with [name_f]Eliana[/name_f]! [name_m]Even[/name_m] though it’s slightly shorter, it’s just as bright, beautiful, and modern-sounding. [name_f]Eva[/name_f] Maelyn is beautiful, and I definitely prefer it to [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] Maelyn.
Thank you! And yes I don’t like Maelyn with [name_f]Evelina[/name_f]. If we go with [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] it would just be [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] lol. :). Could we still call her [name_f]Evie[/name_f] if we use [name_f]Eva[/name_f]?
Absolutely! The name can be pronounced either ee-va or ay-vuh, but I think it still works because first two letters±ie is a very common nickname formula.
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] Maelyn is gorgeous and [name_f]Evie[/name_f] makes perfect sense! [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] Maelyn is also nice but a little long. You could also do [name_u]Everly[/name_u] Maelyn or [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] Maelyn
Thanks. What does better with [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] [name_f]Katharine[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] Maelyn or [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]? Haha. I just want to make sure I pick a name I love. I love [name_f]Evie[/name_f] just trying to find a formal name I love as much
Thanks. Yea I wouldn’t do [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] Maelyn. I would just do [name_f]Mae[/name_f] with [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] lol!! My fiancé doesn’t like [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]. And [name_u]Everly[/name_u] is okay but I don’t love it! Lol. [name_m]Just[/name_m] wasn’t sure if I could still give the nickname to [name_f]Evie[/name_f] to [name_f]Eva[/name_f] since [name_f]Eva[/name_f] is already short
I think I prefer [name_f]Eva[/name_f] Maelyn with [name_f]Eliana[/name_f]. [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] is beautiful but I think it’s very similar to [name_f]Eliana[/name_f]. [name_f]Eva[/name_f] nn [name_f]Evie[/name_f] is wonderful and works perfectly with [name_f]Eliana[/name_f]!
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] could definitely be [name_f]Evie[/name_f]. I really like both names though [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] is more my style just because I’m such a sucker for -ina names. But [name_f]Eva[/name_f] is one of those names I can’t imagine too many girls being unhappy to have. [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] is very feminine and is going to be hit or miss whether it suits the person. While both go well with [name_f]Eliana[/name_f], [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] is the closer stylistic match; they sound like twin ballerinas. However, if you have any more kids, this could leave you feeling locked into this style and sound. So I guess I would ask yourself if you want a frilly or a simpler name, and whether you want distinction between sisters. Either way you can’t go wrong.
Thanks guys. So what does everyone think. What sounds best
[name_f]Evelina[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_m]Farley[/name_m] or [name_f]Eva[/name_f] Maelyn [name_m]Farley[/name_m] both with the nickname [name_f]Evie[/name_f]???
Thanks
I prefer [name_f]Eva[/name_f] Maelyn. I think it’s a better stylistic match to [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] because both names are modern and fairly popular without being overused.
Ok thank you. I just feel like [name_f]Eva[/name_f] is so short compared to [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] lol
With your last name I have to give the edge to [name_f]Evelina[/name_f].
Thanks! Anyone else?? Now it’s a tie haha!! What does everyone else think?
Well found out my fiancé doesn’t like Maelyn as a middle name lol
What do you think of EvaMae as a first name with another middle name??
Or [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Maelle[/name_f] [name_m]Farley[/name_m]?
I definitely would avoid EvaMae, as I think that hyphenated or multiple-capital names can be quite clunky. [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Maelle[/name_f] is very nice, and I also think [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Marielle[/name_f] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Maelys[/name_f] work.
What about [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] as a first name and she could go by [name_f]Evie[/name_f]?
I really like [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] as a first and middle name but not a huge fan of EvaMae as the full first name.
I like both options. [name_f]Maelle[/name_f] is very pretty, but for EvaMae I would do it like [name_f]Eva[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f] with a hyphen. I like these names as a double barrel, [name_f]Eva[/name_f]'s sophistication made a little more downhome. [name_f]Eva[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f] F@rley is quite cute.
Ok thanks! My fiancé doesn’t like [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. [name_m]How[/name_m] about Evamae like this??? Is that bad lol I don’t know if I like the hyphen. But I like [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is too short lol. What are other names that have [name_f]Mae[/name_f] in them for a middle name for [name_f]Eva[/name_f]??
Evamae isn’t too bad, you could also have [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] two words as the fn. It could cause confusion, but so many of my Irish Catholic family members have names like that and don’t seem to have an issue.
[name_f]Maelie[/name_f] or [name_f]Mable[/name_f] ([name_f]Maebelle[/name_f]?) incorporate [name_f]Mae[/name_f] but I’m not sure they work with the rest of the name. Is [name_f]Malia[/name_f] too much of a stretch for you? You’ve probably already got the best of the batch with Maelyn, [name_f]Maelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Maelys[/name_f].
