Evna for a girl's name?

What do you think of the name Evna (pronounced like [name_f]Edna[/name_f], but with a v) for a girl? We would call her [name_f]Evie[/name_f] for short. A quick Google search for Evna did not turn up anything so I would love some feedback.

Alternatively, we could just name her [name_f]Evie[/name_f]; it is a popular name in the UK and Australia.

Any comments would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I like it.

Its very unusual, but I like it. [name_f]Evie[/name_f] is adorable. A few other options:
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_f]Eveline[/name_f]
[name_u]Everly[/name_u]

I found it kind of odd. But it’s ok. Although [name_f]Evie[/name_f] is just adorable & stunning!!

Hmm, I sort of like it but I sort of don’t. However I love [name_f]Evie[/name_f]!
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] xx

I actually kinda like it. I think -evna is one of the feminine endings used for the patronymic naming tradition in the Ukraine. [name_f]One[/name_f] of my best friends in grade school was from Ukraine and her middle name was her dad’s first name with a feminine ending on it, and I think it was -evna. I actually don’t know that much about it, she was embarrassed about it at the time so it’s a wonder I know her middle name at all.

I misread it as [name_u]Evan[/name_u] in all of the previous posts despite knowing it said Evna. Not a fan.

I like [name_f]Evie[/name_f] but not Evna

It’s prettier than [name_f]Edna[/name_f], but missing something in front…I guess I just like it as a suffix.

@thatkathryngirl
yeah it is one of those Patronymic endings used in [name_f]Russia[/name_f] (and Ukraine… general ex-USSR)
