Evren or Barrett

Hubby and I are having such a hard time choosing a boy name. Im leaning towards Evren and he’s wanting Barrett (Bear). I like Barrett, but I found the name Evren and really like it. Ray-Paul are honor names. Would love ya alls input!

I don’t feel strongly about [name_m]Barrett[/name_m] one way or the other, but I adore [name_m]Bear[/name_m] as a nickname! Maybe you can still affectionately call him your little bear if you end up using [name_m]Evren[/name_m]?

[name_m]Bear[/name_m] is a cool nickname but to me the possibility he’ll just end up as [name_m]Barry[/name_m] is too high with [name_m]Barrett[/name_m].

This is exactly how I feel about it. The name [name_m]Bear[/name_m] for NN is just too cute. But I’m not over the moon with the name [name_m]Barrett[/name_m]. lol

I think both are great options but there’s something magical about [name_m]Evren[/name_m]!

I think @Wandarine[name_f][/name_f] makes a great suggestion that [name_m]Bear[/name_m] could still be used as an affectionate nickname if it suits him!!

this poll is personally fascinating because I had boys with these names in my preschool class this year [name_f][/name_f] (one with a slightly different spelling)

I personally prefer [name_m]Evren[/name_m] but I think [name_m]Barrett[/name_m] flows better with the middle name

I’ve recommend Evren to friends who’ve then used it for the dons - it’s such a handsome name to me! I find Barrett a bit harsh and shouty though I get it has a southern charm.

How about the compromise of Orson - nn Bear via the meaning? Arthur nn Bear via meaning? Or Edmund /Edward nn Bear via the nn teddy.

I like all of these these more than Barrett. Bjorn (meaning bear) is another option as a first but might bring pronunciation and other issues. Benedict or Benjamin nn Bear could work just via sounds.

Or you could go Evren Arthur Paul-Ray and have two middles?

I’d use Paul-Ray over Ray-Paul as Ray-Paul almost makes you say the word r@pe/ phrase/ command r@pe-all.

So even if you use Barrett or Evren, I suggest you go Paul-Ray as the middle. I get Paul often goes second but that’s typical with the first name John.

Another option is Raylan Paul Barrett or Rylan Paul Barrett - or Rayan, or Grayson. - so Ray honoured in first name but you still have Barrett of another Bear name in a middle spot to use nn Bear.

Finally, what about Bear as a first? Bear Paul-Ray or Bear Raymond Paul would be great. You could see jot gave Bear Ray-Paul for the risks above (bear r@pe-all) but these other names are fab!

Any appeal?

[name_m]Evren[/name_m] has a nice sound, but there’s other similar names I like more personally (Everett, [name_m]Ever[/name_m], [name_m]Evan[/name_m], Evander). [name_f][/name_f] I love [name_m]Bear[/name_m] as a nn though and [name_m]Barrett[/name_m] is lovely! [name_f][/name_f] He got my vote.

I definitely liked Orson… hubby didn’t. As for
[name_f][/name_f]The name [name_m]Bear[/name_m] as first name, I felt with the two middle names that first name needed to be 2 syllables?

[name_f][/name_f]

And I didn’t think about the r@pe sound. lol! Good catch. Something I’ll need to adjust for sure.

I don’t mind [name_m]Barrett[/name_m], but I do like [name_m]Evren[/name_m] very much. It has such a fantasy feel to it, without being too over the top.

I really like the name Beran. But hubby doesn’t. Plus, I’m in the states and there’s probably too much political influence to the name. No point saddling a kid with that. So I was ok with [name_m]Barrett[/name_m] but [name_m]Evren[/name_m] is just magic! :star_struck:

I really like the name [name_m]Everett[/name_m], but hubby doesn’t. He so stuck on [name_m]Barrett[/name_m]. But I found the name [name_m]Evren[/name_m] and just thought it was super cool. Not too out there but still magical :sparkles:
