I have just recently started writing a short story and i am having some issues with coming up with a name for my female protagonist. The name i have currently been using for her is katlyn, but i dont like it very much.
The character has a twin brother named [name_m]Egan[/name_m] and her uncle’s name is [name_m]Kenneth[/name_m]. In the story she is the illegitimate daughter of the late [name_f]Queen[/name_f] and being raised by the late [name_m]King[/name_m]'s brother. (There is a whole backstory to this that i wont get into). Anyway, she has long dark red hair and witchy blue grey eyes, about average height and build. She has a fiery, rebellious and determinded personality.
I am looking for elegant exotic sounding names for her. I would love if it was a long name with three or more syllables, but it doesnt have to be. The names can oroginate from any country or be something completely made up.
I am also looking for two surnames, one for the late queen and king and one for the family that became the king and queen. I dont have any specific requirements for these, so just about anything will be consisdered.
I’ve always been very fond of names that sound mysterious or exotic so I have a few ideas you might like too:
[name_f]Nadezhda[/name_f] - Slavic name meaning hope
[name_f]Eluned[/name_f] - Welsh name meaning idol/image. I love that luna sound!
[name_f]Audra[/name_f] - I like it better than the girlier [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] - a name I picked up while watching Downton [name_u]Abbey[/name_u] and it stuck with me because it sounds quite exotic.
[name_f]Elvira[/name_f] - love the dark vibe that name has! it’s a Visigoth name meaning ‘all true’
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] I could help!
[name_m]Just[/name_m] want to say that this is actually pronounced el-IN-ed or el-EEN-ed, not ee-[name_f]LU[/name_f]-ned. The Welsh ‘u’ is different from ours.
