[name_m]Lucian[/name_m]- love the name. it’s smooth. I also like [name_m]Lucius[/name_m].
[name_m]Marius[/name_m]- not sure exactly how you pronounce it, but it seems like “marry us” to me.
[name_u]Constantine[/name_u]- [name_m]Roman[/name_m] emperor. converted to christianity and forced the entire roman empire to adopt the religion.
[name_m]Severin[/name_m]- I have no idea what my association with this name is, but it’s distinctly negative. Maybe Slytherin?
[name_u]Sinclair[/name_u]-[name_m]Lewis[/name_m]. Good stuff.
[name_m]Thelonius[/name_m]- no association but assume it’s some ancient Greek thing
[name_m]Octavian[/name_m]- prefer [name_m]Augustus[/name_m].
[name_u]Dorian[/name_u]- [name_u]Dorian[/name_u] [name_u]Gray[/name_u] “sold his soul” for eternal youth and beauty-- not a good namesake (even though I kind of like it).
[name_m]Faustus[/name_m]- Dr. [name_m]Faustus[/name_m] sold his soul to the devil for power and knowledge. Not a good namesake.
[name_m]Edison[/name_m]- meh. Seems like lots of people are into this name right now.
I voted [name_m]Marius[/name_m], but if not for that I might have voted for [name_m]Lucian[/name_m]. They both seem ‘suave’ : )
@collmcc563 - I believe it’s pronounced (maur-ee-us).
I like the sounds of [name_m]Marius[/name_m] and [name_m]Lucian[/name_m]. [name_m]Both[/name_m] are very lyrical. I also like [name_u]Dorian[/name_u], though as PP said, it’s not a great namesake. I also knew a girl [name_u]Dorian[/name_u]. I also like [name_u]Sinclair[/name_u] as well. “sin” is an unfortunately nickname though.
[name_m]Lucian[/name_m] - Prefer [name_m]Lucius[/name_m] but it’s not bad.
[name_m]Marius[/name_m] - A bit of a nitwit in [name_u]Les[/name_u] Mis.
[name_u]Constantine[/name_u] - I like it. The ones I’ve known have all been Eastern European. Feels very [name_m]Christian[/name_m], but not bad. Voted for it.
[name_m]Severin[/name_m] - Certainly more remarkable than [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], but I don’t like it as much as [name_m]Samson[/name_m] or even
[name_u]Sinclair[/name_u] - Feels inexplicably feminine to me. There was a girl named [name_u]Sinclair[/name_u] on Living Single. I do like [name_f]Claire[/name_f]/[name_u]Clare[/name_u] for girls, but that doesn’t help the femme aspect.
[name_m]Thelonius[/name_m] - I like it, but like [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m] more.
[name_m]Octavian[/name_m] - Like. Voted for it.
[name_u]Dorian[/name_u] - For whatever reason I love D names for boys - [name_m]Dmitri[/name_m], [name_m]Damon[/name_m], [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m], [name_m]Damien[/name_m], [name_m]Demetrius[/name_m], even [name_u]December[/name_u]. Not this one though.
[name_m]Faustus[/name_m] - Faustian? No.
[name_m]Edison[/name_m] - [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Edison[/name_m] was not a very admirable person and all I can think of. I also dislike the nickname [name_m]Ed[/name_m]. And I don’t like surname-names. I wouldn’t find this very exotic (surnames are on trend) nor very traditional. I do like the possibility of [name_m]Ted[/name_m]/[name_m]Ned[/name_m] as nicknames, but vastly prefer [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] or even [name_m]Edwin[/name_m].
I like both [name_m]Marius[/name_m] and [name_m]Edison[/name_m].
[name_m]Marius[/name_m] and [name_m]Octavian[/name_m] are my favorites, honorable mention to [name_m]Lucian[/name_m]. [name_u]Dorian[/name_u] is nice, but [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] Wilde has tainted it a bit in my mind.
