Expanding the boys' list

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Berries! I am considering some new names for my boys’ list. Which of the following go with my current list, which consists of: [name_m]Lorcan[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Edmund[/name_m], and [name_m]Magnus[/name_m] [name_m]Philip[/name_m]?

The Contenders:

[name_m]Beric[/name_m] nn [name_m]Bear[/name_m]
[name_m]Finnian[/name_m] nn [name_u]Finn[/name_u] - Not sure whether [name_u]Finn[/name_u] still seems magical or is too used now to have that spark.
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] nn [name_m]Mac[/name_m]
[name_m]Roark[/name_m] nn [name_u]Rory[/name_u] - Have a feeling this won’t get much love, but my question is, is it too hard to spell?

*Game of Thrones reference for [name_m]Beric[/name_m] or [name_m]Theon[/name_m] doesn’t bug me.

[name_m]General[/name_m] thoughts on the names are welcome, or suggestions. It’s hard to find names that give me the same satisfaction/feel as my top 3, especially unusual [name_m]Lorcan[/name_m], but I think I’m getting somewhere.

Hey! I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Lorcan[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m], and [name_m]Magnus[/name_m]!!

I haven’t watched GoT so I didn’t get the reference but I think:

[name_m]Iver[/name_m] - Really like this name
[name_m]Roark[/name_m]- it’s interesting… but I feel like it’s a tongue twister of sorts
[name_m]Beric[/name_m]- although it reminds me of barricks

[name_m]Will[/name_m] go great with your top three.

Some suggestions:

[name_m]Alaric[/name_m]- instead of [name_m]Beric[/name_m]

[name_m]Lorcan[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_m]Magnus[/name_m], and

[name_m]Roark[/name_m] (I do not think it’s hard to spell, some people might add an E at the end. Family, friends, people in your son’s life will learn how to spell it the way you want.

My personal favorites are; [name_m]Colin[/name_m], [name_m]Finnian[/name_m], [name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_u]Rory[/name_u], and [name_m]Soren[/name_m].

@mj21: Thank you so much! [name_f]Glad[/name_f] you like what’s already on my list. Of your suggestions I really love [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] and [name_m]Lucian[/name_m].

@lovemysweeties: Thank you for your input! I’m glad you think [name_m]Colin[/name_m] goes, I’m a little unsure if he’s unusual enough.

[name_m]Colin[/name_m] is my son’s name. [name_f]Glad[/name_f] to see you spelled it with one L. I have [name_m]Felix[/name_m] on my short list. [name_m]Lorcan[/name_m] is Irish but I love Scottish and Irish names and feel they go well with each other. I also love quite a few Dutch/Swedish names and many fit with [name_m]Colin[/name_m]. Honestly, I feel [name_m]Colin[/name_m] fits perfectly with your top 3.

[name_m]Soren[/name_m] and [name_m]Roark[/name_m] are my favorites on your list! I’ve usually seen [name_m]Roark[/name_m] spelled [name_m]Rourke[/name_m], but I like the sound and look of him with your other children’s names.

[name_m]Even[/name_m] though [name_m]Theon[/name_m] Greyjoy dampens it because he’s awful, lol, I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_m]Theon[/name_m].

[name_m]Beric[/name_m] is also nice, mostly because I think [name_m]Bear[/name_m] is a fantastic nickname, maybe also.a little for the GoT reference because that man is badass.

[name_m]Finnian[/name_m]/[name_u]Finn[/name_u] is pretty great. I love [name_u]Finn[/name_u]. It’s so simple, yet handsome and can be both soft and rugged at the same time somehow.

[name_m]Finnian[/name_m], [name_m]Hector[/name_m], [name_m]Iver[/name_m] and [name_m]Soren[/name_m] are my favourites here, as well as my favourites with your other names. Your three current contenders are fabulous!

Have you considered…

@lovemysweeties: [name_m]Colin[/name_m] is a handsome name! I prefer it with one L, looks more natural to me that way.

@emarias22: Thank you! I like [name_m]Duncan[/name_m] and [name_m]Ronan[/name_m].

@enoel3: I must confess I do like the actor who plays [name_m]Theon[/name_m], but the character? Definitely a controversial one. Thank you for your thoughts on the names.

@katinka: Thank you! I have considered some of your suggestions, and [name_m]Otto[/name_m] and [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] are actually on my longer list of possibilities. [name_m]Haldor[/name_m] intrigues me, I haven’t heard of him before, but the sounds are quite nice.
