I have been using the forum to search for names for a while but I finally made an account to get some real help. I am expecting a boy in [name_u]March[/name_u] and struggling to name him. I have no partner to work with so thought that would make it easier as I don’t have anyone else to please… but I am convinced that it’s made it harder!
[name_f]My[/name_f] surname is [name_u]Swan[/name_u]. I find it hard to work with as names ending in -an/en sound a little to much and I can’t really use a name ending with S as they clash. I also have to avoid twilight names, lol. I liked [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] for a while until someone pointed THAT out to me.
I tend to gravitate towards ‘soft’ names like:
[name_u]Daniel[/name_u]
[name_u]Michael[/name_u] (although I had a … friend turned ex-friend called Mike/Michael at school and I think of him when I hear this so I’m not sure I’ll use it)
[name_m]Christopher[/name_m]
[name_u]Aidan[/name_u] (likely won’t use because nobody will spell it right, and it’s super popular)
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u]
[name_u]Evan[/name_u]
[name_u]Julian[/name_u]
[name_u]Francis[/name_u] (s ending sorta makes this unusable)
[name_m]Joshua[/name_m]
[name_u]Elijah[/name_u] (I love [name_u]Elijah[/name_u] but don’t like [name_u]Eli[/name_u] so also probably won’t use this)
[name_u]Liam[/name_u]
[name_u]Noah[/name_u]
[name_u]Joseph[/name_u]
His middle name will be [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], or [name_u]Charles[/name_u], after my Grandpa. He went by [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] all of the time (he actually hated Charles) so I want to try and use that but it doesn’t go with every name, so [name_u]Charles[/name_u] is also an option.
I just feel like I don’t LOVE anything. And I’m running low on time. I didn’t look at names for a while due to stress & also not wanting to jinx anything due to past losses and now I’m regretting that.
What do you think of these names? [name_f]Do[/name_f] any stand out to y’all as good names that work with Charlie/Charles [name_u]Swan[/name_u] as middle and surname? Hearing it from someone else might help me love them
From your list, I adore [name_u]Elliott[/name_u], [name_u]Evan[/name_u], [name_u]Julian[/name_u] and [name_u]Liam[/name_u]. [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] and [name_u]Liam[/name_u] flow nicely with [name_u]Swan[/name_u]. I’m a little unsure on [name_u]Evan[/name_u] and [name_u]Julian[/name_u] though since both first and last would end similarly. [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] or [name_u]Liam[/name_u] [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] work well.
Wildcard, would you be open to using [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] as his first name? [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_u]Swan[/name_u] flows well and it would be such a cool tribute to your Grandpa. You obviously love the idea of using it as his middle name, so why not first name? [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_u]Daniel[/name_u], [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_u]Noah[/name_u] or [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_u]Liam[/name_u] would be handsome.
I have surname envy! From your list I’d go with [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] [name_u]Charles[/name_u] [name_u]Swan[/name_u] it sounds so handsome and sophisticated!
First, I think all of your names are wonderful. I don’t love [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] with Charles/Charlie, and I agree that [name_u]Francis[/name_u] [name_u]Swan[/name_u] is hard to say. Other than those, I don’t think you can go wrong with your list.
Others, if you want more inspiration (but I don’t think you need it):
From your list, I really like [name_u]Elliot[/name_u], [name_u]Julian[/name_u], [name_u]Elijah[/name_u], and [name_u]Noah[/name_u]! All great names. I think any of those flow nicely with [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] as a middle name since it seems like you’re wanting to use [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] instead of [name_u]Charles[/name_u].
Honestly naming is hard I really found the whole process when it came to naming my daughter super challenging! But I did find the one eventually and you will do too.
Firstly love the surname [name_u]Swan[/name_u] and having Charlie/Charles as a middle name is a great place to start. You know what your working with so that’s great
From your list I love [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_u]Swan[/name_u], [name_u]Julian[/name_u] [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_u]Swan[/name_u], [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_u]Swan[/name_u] and [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_u]Swan[/name_u]. Personally I would use a longer name and feel [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_u]Swan[/name_u] is the best fit. I find [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_u]Liam[/name_u], [name_u]Evan[/name_u] & [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] a little off. I wouldn’t use [name_u]Daniel[/name_u] because the name sounds off with [name_u]Swan[/name_u] and I think your reservations over [name_u]Aidan[/name_u], [name_u]Elijah[/name_u], [name_u]Michael[/name_u] & [name_u]Francis[/name_u] make them the wrong choices as well.
Personally I think a longer name is the way forward [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] with your surname definitely has the best flow. Here are some suggestions please count any repeats as me being in agreement with the berries
Really hope this helps and good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. I also hope that you have a smooth delivery, your little man is healthy & you recovery quickly
[name_u]Daniel[/name_u] [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_u]Swan[/name_u] and [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_u]Swan[/name_u] sound very nice to me. You might also like [name_m]Raphael[/name_m], [name_m]Phillip[/name_m], [name_m]Peter[/name_m], [name_m]Matteo[/name_m], [name_u]Oliver[/name_u], [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] or [name_m]Josiah[/name_m].
from your list my fav is [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]! [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_u]Charles[/name_u] / [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_u]Swan[/name_u] sound lovely!
Congratulations!!
[name_f]My[/name_f] top 3 for you are
[name_u]Julian[/name_u] [name_u]Charles[/name_u] [name_u]Swan[/name_u]
[name_u]Noah[/name_u] [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_u]Swan[/name_u]
[name_u]Joseph[/name_u] [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_u]Swan[/name_u]
Would you consider
[name_u]Adrian[/name_u] or [name_m]Hadrian[/name_m] rather than [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] ?
[name_u]Adrian[/name_u] [name_u]Charles[/name_u] [name_u]Swan[/name_u] ( this is my favourite of it’s a possibility)
[name_u]Milo[/name_u] instead of [name_u]Michael[/name_u] ?
[name_u]Milo[/name_u] [name_u]Charles[/name_u] [name_u]Swan[/name_u]
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite out of your list is [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_u]Swan[/name_u], and I also like [name_u]Liam[/name_u] [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_u]Swan[/name_u]
I’d also like to throw out [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_u]Swan[/name_u] as a name you may like
Also would just like to mention that if you don’t want [name_u]Twilight[/name_u] references definitely don’t use [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] as the first name as someone else suggested since that is Bella’s dad’s name who’s a pretty main character in [name_u]Twilight[/name_u]. But on that note I think you could get away with [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] if you really love it. You may get some people pointing out a [name_u]Twilight[/name_u] association but probably moreso just because of the first name on its own since Jasper’s last name isn’t even [name_u]Swan[/name_u] in the series. (But many people just associate [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] with [name_u]Twilight[/name_u] since it’s a pretty uncommon name and that’s the most popular usage of it.)
