Hello all…new to the site and would like some advice. I am currently expecting my second child and am stuck on names. [name_f]My[/name_f] daughter’s name is Raigen [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Rai[/name_u]). I absolutely love her name but I’m finding it very difficult to find names that ‘compliment’ hers. I don’t know the sex yet but would like to have some ideas for boy and girl names. I don’t like very common names but I dont like super weird/out there either. I also love names that can be shortened to have a nickname (like my daughter). Last name rhymes with ‘Furnace’.
Here is a list of names I’ve written down so far
Girls:
[name_m]Berkley[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Berk[/name_m])
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_m]Finnley[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Finn[/name_u])
[name_u]Marlow[/name_u] (nn [name_u]Marley[/name_u])
[name_f]Cambria[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Cam[/name_u])
[name_f]Mavis[/name_f] (worried about the ending ‘s’ sound matching last name…or is that just me?)
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Tally[/name_u])
Boys:
[name_m]Archer[/name_m] (but I hate the nn [name_m]Archie[/name_m])
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Beck[/name_u])
[name_m]Colton[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Colt[/name_m])
[name_m]Jett[/name_m]
[name_m]Ryder[/name_m]
From your girls list I like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] and [name_f]Cambria[/name_f]. [name_u]Finley[/name_u] and [name_m]Berkley[/name_m] are strictly boy [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
From your boys list I like [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] and [name_m]Archer[/name_m] (love [name_m]Archer[/name_m])
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_m]Archer[/name_m] are my favorites, but not with Raigen. [name_u]Marlow[/name_u], [name_f]Cambria[/name_f], [name_m]Jett[/name_m], and [name_m]Colton[/name_m] go better with your daughter’s name.
[name_m]Berkley[/name_m] and [name_u]Finley[/name_u] are BOY names. Dont give your daughter another boys name…
I like your suggestion [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] for girls and [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] for boys, although I dont really like any of your boy choices.
And if someone gets mad at me for saying this, she asked opinions on the names. Dont say I was being rude.
Since you have a more feminine name in the middle (not that Raigen is not feminine, just that it’s listed/viewed as unisex) with your first daughter, from your list I’d choose something like [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] or [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Cambria[/name_f] for a girl. From your boys list I like [name_m]Colton[/name_m] best with Raigen.
Some suggestions I’ll throw out there are
Girls: (more unisex first name paired with a little more frilly middle)
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_u]Remy[/name_u] [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
From your list I like [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] (though I prefer [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]), [name_f]Cambria[/name_f], and [name_m]Beckett[/name_m]. I do like [name_m]Archer[/name_m], but since you said you don’t like nn [name_m]Archie[/name_m] I’d suggest [name_m]Asher[/name_m]. People will use [name_m]Archie[/name_m] even if you don’t.
Raigen [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] is an adorable name. From your list of girls, I like everything except [name_f]Cambria[/name_f] and [name_f]Mavis[/name_f]. You could use [name_m]Arch[/name_m] as a nickname for [name_m]Archer[/name_m]. (I dislike the name [name_m]Archie[/name_m], too.) I like all of your boy names. I think [name_m]Berkley[/name_m] and [name_m]Archer[/name_m] or [name_m]Ryder[/name_m] go best with Raigen.
Raigen [name_f]Estelle[/name_f], [name_m]Layton[/name_m] [name_f]Claire[/name_f], and [name_m]Ferguson[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]. [name_m]Will[/name_m] [name_m]Ferguson[/name_m] work with your last name? If not how about [name_m]Oisin[/name_m]? Or Oasin? [name_m]Olsen[/name_m]?
Like the Pairing of [name_f]Cambria[/name_f] and Raigen…esp the nicknames [name_u]Cam[/name_u] and rai. However Raigen almost sounds boyish and [name_f]Cambria[/name_f] - girly.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about :
[name_f]Ryanne[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] : nn [name_m]Ry[/name_m]
I do like [name_m]Berkley[/name_m] [name_f]Ellen[/name_f]
[name_u]Marlow[/name_u] [name_f]Elaina[/name_f]
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and sounds unisex (dearly love the name)
I know too many girls named [name_m]Jett[/name_m]!
I like [name_m]Archer[/name_m] but it is becoming Trendy.
[name_m]Ryder[/name_m] is alright.
Thanks for all the replies! I have added some of your suggestions to my list and will run them by my boyfriend…but his style is more classic than mine. I have plenty of time to decide and once we find out the sex it might be a little easier choosing. Naming seems a lot harder the second time around tho lol
