I’m due early July with our third child. This will be our third child but our seventh pregnancy. Big sisters are Karin Renee (kuh-RIN) and Delaney Mae (dee-LANE-ee) “Laney” or “Laney Mae”. I love that I can sing their names, think Karin Renee is just such a beautiful name, and Laney Mae is just the sweetest nn. We are thrilled to be expecting another but surprised at how quickly it happened for us this time. I’m really feeling Charlotte is the name though that of course could change later in the pregnancy. Charlotte is a family name which part of all my kids names are family names. If we get a 4th of July baby girl I would love to name her Charlotte Liberty-family name, 4th of July name, & husband’s initials, triple score with this one. Otherwise I love Charlotte Ann. A boy will be so difficult to name. I love names like Beau, Blaise, Bellamy, Mack, Ambrose, Saul while my husband is more along the conventional lines with names (think Micheal and David). If our last had been a boy she would have been Lane to honor my dad. With my history and the fact that we could have a dozen girls and never have a boy, I decided to honor my dad with our daughter hence the name Delaney. I’m not having a dozen kids even if I didn’t have fertility problems, I was just using for example. I do like the idea of Charles Lee-Allen which would honor hubby and hubby’s parent’s (their middle names) though I’d worry the same first name and the same initials could be a problem for a son. I found I prefer the first name to do the honoring-my first it’s the mn that does the honoring and though I love her name and would not change it, I don’t feel it’s honoring enough. Don’t think I’d ever sell my husband on Virginia nn Ginny (my sis is Jenny, mn Renee)-he doesn’t like place names. Oh, I would LOVE Arizona for a boy. My husband and I both lived in AZ for a time and loved it there.
Congratulations! I have a [name]Charlotte[/name] myself and I love her name. It wasn’t a family name, it just seemed so luxurious and feminine to me. Her middle name is [name]Noelle[/name]. I think [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Liberty[/name] would be a cute idea, although I like [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Ann[/name] more.
For a boy, I think [name]Charles[/name] [name]Lee[/name]-[name]Allen[/name] would be a cute idea, [name]Charlie[/name] is cute.
[name]Hope[/name] this helps.
Thank you. The hubby is [name]Charlie[/name] so probably would need a different nn for a son. I like [name]Huck[/name]. Really don’t think the husband would go for a son named [name]Charles[/name] though. His mail and his grandfather’s mail whom he was named after was always getting mixed up which was annoying to him. A boy is definitely going to be much harder to name than a girl.
Congrats!! I know a lil [name]Charles[/name] called [name]Chaz[/name].
