[name_m]Hi[/name_m], all! I thought this would be fun, and I wanted to validate that I am at least (somewhat ) normal within the Nameberry community. Maybe I’m the only one who does this, but do you find yourself thinking of words that could be names. And by words, I don’t mean pretty, unique words like [name_f]Quintessence[/name_f] and Radiance, but random, ordinary words. Also, maybe this is a synesthesia thing, but I often like names and words based on how they “taste” and what they “look like,” but I’d love to hear if you do this, and, if so, with which words. Two I’ve thought of recently:
Scenario: Sounds long, Italian, and romantic like [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] or [name_m]Romeo[/name_m]. Probably for a boy.
Likely: You’re going to think this is super weird, and it probably is, but it tastes like pineapples to me. Also: [name_u]Everly[/name_u], [name_u]Paisley[/name_u], and… Likely?!
Words I could somewhat imagine as names:
Pot
Violin
Locket
Paper (close to [name_u]Piper[/name_u]!)
Pipkin (nickname [name_u]Pip[/name_u]?)
[name_m]Chess[/name_m]
Cardigan (nickname Cardie or [name_f]Carrie[/name_f])
Umbrella
Portrait (similar to [name_f]Portia[/name_f])
Outlet (called [name_f]Lettie[/name_f])
Orzo (always thought of it as somewhere between [name_m]Otto[/name_m] and [name_m]Enzo[/name_m])
Samosa
[name_u]Marble[/name_u]
Descendant
[name_u]Rice[/name_u]
I like the word Millennia as a girls name. It sounds lovely to start with and also lends itself to lots of pretty nicknames like [name_f]Millie[/name_f] and [name_f]Lenna[/name_f].
Recently I’ve been loving the look and sound of [name_f]Elegy[/name_f] for a girl, but it’s too sad of a meaning to ever use, I think.
I also think [name_f]Calamity[/name_f] is really pretty and cool, but a little too chaotic and also very tied to [name_f]Calamity[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f].
Pageturner nn [name_f]Paige[/name_f] would be so cute! If only.
Also, I could definitely see Storyteller as a middle name in someone’s combos on nameberry!
Apostrophe – foreign and mysterious
Avalanche – [name_f]Avalon[/name_f] + [name_f]Blanche[/name_f]
[name_u]Comet[/name_u] – [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] + [name_u]Emmett[/name_u]
Eastern
Jaundice – updated version of [name_f]Candice[/name_f]
Licorice – sweet and sassy
Maelstrom – Trendiest name on the block
Northern
[name_f]Serendipity[/name_f] – A beautiful girl name
Southern
[name_m]Turtle[/name_m] – like [name_m]Bear[/name_m] or [name_u]Wolf[/name_u] but cuter!
Western
When I was 10 I wanted to have two daughters named [name_f]Chalice[/name_f] and Median, and to this day I still think Median would be a lovely name if it wasn’t just a math word!
There weree two words that I used to think would make great names
[name_f]Trinity[/name_f] and Regency
[name_f]Trinity[/name_f] did become a popular name here in Australia for a while, but I would love to meet a little
Regency, I don’t like nn, but there are many possibilities. [name_u]Rene[/name_u], [name_u]Gene[/name_u], [name_f]Gen[/name_f], [name_m]Reg[/name_m](gie) [name_u]Reece[/name_u],
I’ve met a surprising amount of people with some of the names on here! Okay the ones that come to my mind are:
Holder- (it might be a name though)
Window
Basket
Xylophone- nn Xylo!
[name_u]Marble[/name_u]
Frame
Polar
[name_u]Bright[/name_u]
