I’m thinking about names again, as I think we might try for a baby next summer (I keep getting [name_f]October[/name_f] babies lol. I told my husband under no circumstances are we getting a third [name_f]October[/name_f] baby–we already have four birthdays the first week of [name_f]October[/name_f] ).
Anyways, There are two names I’ve been thinking about: [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] and [name_m]Grant[/name_m].
I came up with:
[name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] [name_m]Angus[/name_m] (the name of my husband’s 96 year old maternal grandfather), and
[name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] [name_m]Jory[/name_m] (honouring my mother-in-law–her middle name is Marjorie). I do like this combination, but i recently found out [name_m]Jory[/name_m] is a name from Game of Thrones which i would be glad not to be associated with. Would anyone make a connection with the name and Game of Thrones?
[name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] is also a possibility.
[name_f]My[/name_f] mother-in-law is [name_m]French[/name_m] and Scottish so something along those lines would work if anyone has suggestions We have honoured both my mum and dad’s side of the family so we thought we’d honour my mother-in-law’s side this time around when the time comes
Also, [name_m]Grant[/name_m] is my mother-in-law’s maiden name and my husband’s middle name. So if we used this one as a first, it would be the honour name and i would just use a middle name i like along with it however, I’m stumped lol. Any suggestions are welcome!
[name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] is so handsome
I wouldn’t have said [name_m]Jory[/name_m] is overly GoT’s most people would expect names like [name_f]Arya[/name_f], [name_m]Tyrion[/name_m], [name_m]Jon[/name_m], [name_f]Sansa[/name_f], [name_m]Joffrey[/name_m], [name_f]Khaleesi[/name_f] etc. Plus although the show as widely watched it is quite a small community in the grand scheme of things that I don’t think you have to worry about it being labelled as a ‘GoT name’
Ooh, [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] and [name_m]Grant[/name_m] are both great! I like the family connection of [name_m]Grant[/name_m], but my personal favorite is [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m]. [name_m]Jory[/name_m] is such a clever way to honor a [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f]. I haven’t seen Game of Thrones, so I wouldn’t associate it with that at all. It’s a name in its own right anyway (Cornish form of George), so I don’t think you need to overly worry about that connection. [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] [name_m]Angus[/name_m] and [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] are both wonderful combinations though if you decide to go that route.
I love both [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] and [name_m]Grant[/name_m] and they sound lovely together! [name_m]Jory[/name_m] is also a sweet honor name. I think people will not likely think of Game of Thrones because the character is a really minor one and I believe only in the first season, so unless they’re a superfan they’re unlikely to remember him.
[name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] [name_m]Angus[/name_m] is cute; I feel like angus comes off very bluntly strong but with this name is a softer and sweeter sounding strong. [name_m]Angus[/name_m] has Scottish ties too.
[name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] is also such a cute name and I love that it packs meanings for you guys on both sides
[name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] [name_m]Jory[/name_m] is [name_m]Amazing[/name_m]. I don’t watch GOT so I wouldn’t make that connection. I’ve heard of [name_m]Rory[/name_m] for a boy or girl name and I love that. I love the meaning of how you landed on [name_m]Jory[/name_m] and it’s so unique. I think if a name appears on a show people might remember it that way, but that isn’t the only origin of that name.
A name similar to Marjorie/ [name_m]Jory[/name_m] : [name_m]Rory[/name_m], [name_m]Jaron[/name_m], [name_m]Murray[/name_m]
[name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] [name_m]Jory[/name_m] is charming and cool! I haven’t watched GoTs but I do know some of the names from it, and [name_m]Jory[/name_m] isn’t one I recognise.
[name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] [name_m]Angus[/name_m] is great too - [name_m]Angus[/name_m] is so unexpected and cool - I like it!
