We are expecting our baby boy this summer! Not just planning a wish list any longer; time to pick a name! Big sister’s name is Hazel Margaret. Which do you prefer for her brother?
On its own, I prefer Ezra. That’s one of my favorite names and I think it’s absolutely beautiful. However, I think it has too much similarity to big sis Hazel, with them sharing three letters, and both being two syllables with “A,” “E,” and “Z” sounds. I do love Lincoln as well, and I think that one works better with Hazel’s name. It’s sort of vintage-inspired and familiar like Hazel, but has a distinctive sound.
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m] [name_f]Love[/name_f] the sound and meaning and it’s a gentle, sweet name, with quiet strength and spikiness too
Usually, I would vote for [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] over [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] but in this case, with an older sister named [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], I choose [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]! I believe they go well together. [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] and [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] sound completely distinct. Both are traditional, charming, gentle and have a vintage vibe.
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] and [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] share some letters and sounds. I prefer to avoid that, but it’s definitely doable. You can see it as a sweet connection or a small inconvenient. It is up to you, of course! [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] is a strong memorable name!
I’m not sure if any of these two names has a special meaning for you or your family, so I’m only considering [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] and Lincoln’s sonority. At the end, [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] and [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] are two great names! Your son will have an amazing name.
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m] is a really nice name but I prefer that [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] has its own distinct sound from [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
Agree with others. Prefer [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] because it has a distinct sound from [name_f]Hazel[/name_f].
Not unusable but [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] would give me major tongue twisters.
