We are actively trying to conceive baby #2. We have a 22 month old son named [name]Lorenzo[/name] & we have been talking about names & the two we like are [name]Ezra[/name] & [name]Marcello[/name] but we can’t seem to find a middle name we really like for either of them which is leaving us up in the air. If you could leave some suggestions that would be great, last name is Calderon. Thanks in advance!
[name]Ezra[/name] (blank) Calderon or [name]Marcello[/name] (blank) Calderon. With a 2-?-3 syllable count, I’d prefer [name]Ezra[/name] since [name]Marcello[/name] would give you a kind of monotone 3-?-3 syllable count. It sounds best if the entire full name had varied syllables. I’ll link the 1 syllable middle name list for you. Also, be careful to make sure the initials don’t spell anything pronounceable which shouldn’t be too hard (E-?-C).
We only came up so far for them [name]Ezra[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] & [name]Marcello[/name] [name]Anthony[/name]. [name]Both[/name] middle names have family origins but I wanted to open up to other names. [name]Even[/name] first names all together that just would make a good sib set with [name]Lorenzo[/name].
Ok. [name]Lorenzo[/name]'s kind of a cool exotic name compared with the more classical traditional middle names you’ve chosen. This may help:

You could also look at continuing the subtle -O ending with your next son’s name with this list.
Thanks for the suggestions. I like [name]Matteo[/name] & [name]Miguel[/name] from those. I am still stuck on [name]Marcello[/name] & [name]Ezra[/name]. [name]Ezra[/name] is more of my SO’s choice, I like the way [name]Marcello[/name] flows & that it is also Italian like [name]Lorenzo[/name]'s. I wouldn’t be pronouncing it like mar-chello though, it would be mar-sell-o.
I think the very Italian [name]Marcello[/name] (mar-CHELL-o) sounds wierd with such a Spanish last name. [name]Marcelo[/name] would be a more logical pick and it wouldn’t be mispronounced all the time.
[name]Ezra[/name] is a nice name but feels different in style from Romantic, Catholic, Latino, more unusual [name]Lorenzo[/name]/[name]Marcelo[/name]. I think it’s more interesting to pick a name that honours your heritage but still works in English, like [name]Lorenzo[/name].
More ideas:
[name]Lorenzo[/name] & [name]Ezequiel[/name]
[name]Lorenzo[/name] & [name]Leonardo[/name]
[name]Lorenzo[/name] & [name]Maximo[/name]
[name]Lorenzo[/name] & [name]Maximiliano[/name]
[name]Lorenzo[/name] & [name]Marco[/name]
[name]Lorenzo[/name] & [name]Mateo[/name]
[name]Lorenzo[/name] & [name]Gonzalo[/name]
[name]Lorenzo[/name] & [name]Manolo[/name]
[name]Lorenzo[/name] & [name]Nicol[/name]ás
[name]Lorenzo[/name] & [name]Rodrigo[/name]
[name]Lorenzo[/name] & [name]Emilio[/name]
Then please don’t use the spelling [name]Marcello[/name]. It’s kind of disrespectful to take a name from other culture and mispell it / mispronounce it.
for a first name [name]Marcello[/name] is too similar to [name]Lorenzo[/name], i think [name]Ezra[/name] is a better choice. why not [name]Ezra[/name] [name]Marcello[/name] Calderon?
Thank you for the suggestions! The difficult thing is finding a name his family hasn’t yet used, many of those listed above have been used in the family. His Spanish side is huge & goes for names like that. I do like [name]Emilio[/name] & [name]Matteo[/name] very much though!
I wasn’t aware I was misspelling it. A friend I know has his named spelt [name]Marcello[/name] & is not pronounced [name]Mar[/name]-chello. My apologies. That is also why I came on here to see how the spelling would work better.
You could also Americanize a Spanish name or better yet use a variation (Uncle [name]Carlos[/name] to [name]Charles[/name] to [name]Charlie[/name]). With such a large family, you could honor his and your ancestry and heritage without being too literal about it. [name]Even[/name] female names can turn masculine (Aunt [name]Rosa[/name] to [name]Rose[/name] to [name]Roscoe[/name]). The variety of possibilities are endless.
Never thought of it like that, thanks for that suggestion! He has an uncle names [name]Marcos[/name] which is where I kind of got [name]Marcelo[/name] from. [name]Ezra[/name] was more of a name my SO liked because it was biblical. All of our nieces & nephews have biblical names, [name]Faith[/name], [name]Gabriel[/name], & [name]Zion[/name].
I love [name]Ezra[/name]. If my husband didn’t hate it, it would be a contender, but admittedly, [name]Marcello[/name] goes better with your other son’s name (to me at least).
They are both slightly matchy with [name]Lorenzo[/name], in different ways ([name]Ezra[/name]/enzo… [name]Marcelo[/name]/[name]Lorenzo[/name])… but if you don’t mind that, both are great names. I think [name]Marcelo[/name] fits with [name]Lorenzo[/name] much better than [name]Ezra[/name]. I would stick with the Spanish theme. [name]Mateo[/name] feels less matchy even though it ends in O, since it is shorter. Maybe your SO will like its religious meaning?
I mentioned [name]Matteo[/name] to him & he doesn’t like it so much. He likes [name]Ezra[/name] & what it means.
I love the name matteo its unfortunate that ur SO doesnt like it but what about the names: [name]Stefano[/name] or [name]Giuliano[/name] (italian spelling not sure if it translates the same in spanish)
i think both would go with [name]Lorenzo[/name]
Spanish and Italian share a common origin, so many words and names are similar w/different pronunciations. [name]Say[/name] it and spell it as you please! I love [name]Ezra[/name] [name]Marcello[/name]!
I have a friend “[name]Marcello[/name]” and he says it “march ello.” I prefer [name]Ezra[/name] of the two, but I think [name]Lorenzo[/name] and [name]Marcello[/name] (march-ello) sound quite nice together.
Ooh [name]Dominic[/name] and [name]Lorenzo[/name] would be awesome!
I like [name]Ezra[/name] the best with [name]Lorenzo[/name] because it doesn’t have the same ending which would make it a little rhymey.
