Fable? Combos?

I have been obsessing over naming this upcoming baby for days. I am stuck on it being a girl in terms of my intuition, so most of my brain power has gone toward girl names. Last night, I had a dream we had a little dark-haired girl (as all my babies have been, save one!) and her name was [name]Fable[/name]. Nice!

I woke up and thought on it for a bit, asked my oldest daughter (a budding name nerd) what she thought and got a thumbs up, and decided - wow, I like it! I got up the guts to run it by my SO via FB message this afternoon while he was at work (he shoots down almost everything.) To my shock, he LOVES it. We had pretty much settled on [name]Piper[/name] for a girl, but it just wasn’t quite clicking for me for a variety of reasons. He thinks it has a similar “feel” to [name]Piper[/name] and the fact that he loves it is enough of an upvote for me, and it definitely clicked right into place.

An added bonus is the nickname [name]Fa/namee - my best friend passed away last month, and her mom is named [name]Faye[/name]. It was a name she always planned on using for her future children. I am close with her mom, especially since her death, and I know it would mean a lot to her to have a little “namesake” of sorts in my family.

Some combos my oldest daughter and I thought about today… [name]Fable[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name] (her idea,) [name]Fable[/name] [name]Margaret[/name], [name]Fable[/name] [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Fable[/name] [name]Elinor[/name]. I think [name]Fable[/name] needs a fairly sedate, “dated” name in the middle to balance it out. Would love some suggestions!

I had a daughter in [name]April[/name], and I named her [name]Fable[/name]! Since this will be my only child, I wanted her to have a name with a special meaning to me, that was pretty, unique but not silly or bizarre sounding and most especially, that people would smile when they heard it. I went over & over names until they all sounded awful haha*. Anyhow, I’ve always been a big reader, and as a young girl, my favorite stories were a collection of [name]Oscar[/name] Wilde’s modern fables ~ when I was pregnant, I started calling her [name]Fable[/name] to be cute, but then at the hospital, it just flew out of my mouth when the time came to name her! I wasn’t sure if I’d made a good decision, but everyone really loves it, and it has fit all of the criteria I set out for the name. Her middle name is [name]Ryan[/name], after a close loved one of her father’s who passed away. The reaction is pretty much always the same. “[name]Fable[/name]? [name]Fable[/name].” and then a smile… “I like it!”. So, I love the name [name]Fable[/name]. [name]Hope[/name] it helps! Oh, and one more thing. We had a big dinner with a group of Italians (non-English speakers) who were unable to understand her name. I just told them her name in Italian, “Fabiola”, and they just adored it.

Middle names I would have liked:
Violet
Antoinette
Lula
Daisy
Magnolia
Edith

I really like it! It sounds a lot like [name]Sable[/name] (I knew a gorgeous little girl with this name), and i like the nn [name]Fay[/name]. I agree that a down to earth, feminine middle name would be best. All of your ideas sound good!

Wow, what a great name! It’s also one that’s rich in both sound and associations. I think that pairing it with something substantial but streamlined might just do the trick. A few combos come to mind

[name]Fable[/name] [name]Lenore[/name]
[name]Fable[/name] [name]Elaine[/name]
[name]Fable[/name] [name]Jean[/name]
[name]Fable[/name] [name]Colette[/name]
[name]Fable[/name] [name]Antonia[/name]

Good luck!

I think its nice! Nn [name]Faye[/name] is fabulous.

[name]Fable[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Fable[/name] [name]Maria[/name]
[name]Fable[/name] [name]Lillian[/name]
[name]Fable[/name] [name]Elise[/name]
