Faeren/Faewen

Hey Everyone

[name_f][/name_f]

Been mulling over these two names lately

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Love[/name_f] how much whimsy they have and with that middle earth feel. Also love a wild middle name.

[name_f][/name_f]

Would you use them. If so how would you spell them.

[name_f][/name_f]

Faewen (Fay-When or shorter sounding Wen like in Rowan) meaning “Fairy Maiden”

Faeren (Fay-Wren or shorter [name_m]Ren[/name_m] like end of Aaron)
[name_f][/name_f]Meaning “Fairy Wren”

[name_f][/name_f]

Faewyn (Fay-Win) meaning “Fairy Friend”

Ooh, I love all the “Fae” names! I was trying to come up with my own for fun. I found Faeryn, which is basically like your name you have on your list. Which is my favorite you have!

I’ll share my made up ones for fun! :face_savoring_food:
Faeana/Fayana

Faeriel (Fay-re-elle) from my research, Rielle means vision of angels or dream of angels.

Fayrina

Faeliana

Faelyra

Anyway, sorry for droning on. lol! Some of these are kinda out landish, but happy to share. Faeren and Faewyn are my favorite you have! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

PS. I’m kinda fairy expert if you’d like more ideas. Only because I love discussing fairies! :sparkling_heart: :woman_fairy:t2:

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is Faewen so cute. Faeren leaves me more confused with pronunciation.

Faewen is cute but I would spell is Faywyn

i prefer Faewen or Faewyn! It seems softer and ethereal that way. I’d like to suggest [name_f]Faerydae[/name_f] as well! And Ferelith/Faerylith too.

I like Faewen best [name_f][/name_f]- it feels warm and magical!

Hope you don’t mind if I throw mermaids and angels into the mix. lol! Also, had to copy and paste from Wiki.

Alara -Water Fairy; Said to originate from Lake Baikal and made of the love tears of a thousand women, Alara takes the appearance of a beautiful little girl with butterfly-like wings made of light but sprinkle water as she beats them to hover above the lake. Her beauty and youth depend on water so she must always remain close to water sources. She is said to take greed and hate from people’s hearts.

Alvara - Elf Warrior

Anelia - Angel

Aneliya - Angel

Arella - Meaning Angel

Ariel - This one maybe overplayed, thanks to the movie, “The Little Mermaid”. But long before the 1980s movie, Shakespeare had named one of his fairies, or air spirit, Ariel, in the play The Tempest

Aurora - Although we know this famous name from the classic, Sleeping Beauty the name appears in a Romanian fairy tail called, The Fairy Aurora or Zâna Zorilor in Romanian, meaning Fairy of Dawn and published in June 1872.

Aušrinė - I must confess she is not a fairy, but this name just screams fairy to me. She is the Goddess of dawn and is a goddess from Lithuania. Her name is pronounced *Osh-ryn-ne” in Lithuania, but I’m sure most English speakers see it as Auz- reen. Supper cool!

Asrai / Ashrey / Asraia - Fairies depicted as water spirits. Sometime even mermaids and are of British origin. They’re an interesting read if you’d like to know more about them.

Caelia - The name of the Faery Queen in Arthurian Legends

Ella-Shae — a double barrel name I came up with. Ella, meaning Beautiful fairy Maiden; Shae Meaning, From the Fairy Fort. Although I see mixed meanings with the name, Shae. It can apparently mean, Hawklike.

Ellawyn - this is a play on the name Elowyn and could be roughly translated to Fair, Holy , Fairy maiden

Ileana Sanziana - In Romanian folklore, Ileana is the original concept of feminine beauty, the most beautiful amongst the fairies:[9] her eyes look like the sun, her body is like the sea, and her garments are made of flowers. Pearls and gold flow out of her mouth when she sings. She is also said to use her power of white magic to heal or revive. Ileana Cosânzeana signifies the most poetic imagination of Romanian genius. She personifies the beauty, the youth, and the angelic soul, in one wordb, the perfection of humanity. She is a mythical character with supernatural powers and with symbolic features. Ileana Cosânzeana succeeds in defeating the evil forces because she is brave, smart, modest and diligent.

Khloris - The Nymph goddess of flowers. It’s modernized today as, Khloe / Chloe

Kyrenia - Mermaid. tho I’m not 100% sure on this one. It also the name of a city in Cypress.

Lasirn - is a powerful mermaid the wife of Agwe the lwa of the sea, and she represents the silent depths and secrets of the ocean. She is a Haitian mermaid of Voodoo

Nāra - Mermaid, in Latin.

Niamh - Fairy Queen and is Irish or Gaelic origin. It’s pronounce Neev

Nereya - Sea Nymph

Nerina - Sea Nymph

Nerea - Sea Nymph

Nerissa - Sea Nymph

Lara - A nymph in Greek Mythology

Leannán Sídhe - (Law-nan Shee) In Irish folklore, “leannán sídhe” (meaning “fairy lover” or “fairy mistress”) is a figure who is often depicted as a beautiful, alluring fairy who offers inspiration to artists, poets, and musicians in exchange for their love and devotion, though this relationship often leads to a short and tragic life for the mortal lover — I find you could play with this name a bit. It reminds me of of the name Rhiannon, and I feel in the US, you could pronounce it as Lee-an-nan

Ondine / Ondina - Derived from the word, Undine are mermaid like beings from European/Greek mythology. This creature was the catalyst to Han’s Christian Andersen’s, The Little Mermaid .

Pari - Fairy in Sanskrit

Parisa - Meaning Fairylike or angelic in the Persian language

Ptelea - is a Hamdryad type of nymph associated with trees, specifically the elm tree.

Raidne - Siren. This one is a still up in the air name. But it’s believe to be Latin referring to the sirens in Greek and Latin mythology

Saylah - Heaven; Fairy Palace. I’m not 100% sure on this one.

Sereia - literal translation is, mermaid, in Portuguese. Seh-re-ya

Suvannamaccha - literally translates to Golden Fish. Suvanna is lovely choice IMO. She is a daughter of Ravana appearing in the Thai and other Southeast Asian versions of Ramayana. She is a mermaid princess who tries to spoil Hanuman’s plans to build a bridge to Lanka but falls in love with him instead.

Talia - this name I feel could be basically the same name as Ptelea. Same pronunciation but the “P” is a bit weird for English speaking countries. This name is mostly based on the Hebrew name meaning, Dew of Heaven, but was the name of the Original Sleeping Beauty in the Italian version.

Yara / Iara - A water Goddess in Brazilian lore. Known to be a siren who lures men to their unfortunate death. She has several different depictions of either brown eyes and brown hair, green or blonde hair. But because she is Brazilian, she is culturally known with the brown hair and brown eyes. Of course Yara means butterfly as well in Arabic, but I’ve heard most Arabic speakers don’t claim this to mean that

Zana - appears in both Lithuanian and Albanian lore. In Lithuania, she is the protector of the mountains and springs and this name translates to “fairy”. In Albanian, she is more of a nymph like creature who is resides near water or springs

Ziana - may refer to “Holy Fairy” in Baltic langue.

Sorry, this was a lot and was mostly on memory. My notes are not accessible at this time. But I love the idea of a fantasy like name based on lore. I hope you enjoy and you get a lot from it. Peace, Love, and fairy dust. :woman_fairy:t2: :sparkles:
