Faeya

I stole Faeya from goddess’s list (thank you!) and really like it.

I pronounce it like [name_f]Fay[/name_f] with an A at the end. FAY-ya, kind of.

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like it?

And does anyone know what it means and where it came from?

A quick google reveals there’s a folk singer with the name. I’d assume it was an elaboration of Fae/Fay (meaning fairy)? There’s also [name_f]Feya[/name_f], which is a variant of [name_f]Fia[/name_f].

Faeya is pleasing, magical and sort of fantastical but gentle too

I love it!!! I pronounce it Fae-ya or Fae-uh like [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and [name_f]Fae[/name_f] combined into one name. I really love [name_f]Fae[/name_f] but wanted to spice it up a little, and I love [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_f]Farah[/name_f], and [name_f]Flora[/name_f], so I came up with Faeya to have that similar sound but still have the fairy meaning & association of [name_f]Fae[/name_f]!:woman_fairy:t3: I didn’t know there was a singer named Faeya, but I really love that someone’s used it!!!:sparkling_heart::fairy:t2:

I really like the sound of it, but I don’t love the spelling – too many vowels in a row for me

I have [name_f]Feya[/name_f] & Feia on my list, pronounced the same way.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] love love!! Particularly with the Feia spelling. It sounds magical, ethereal, fantastical… all the things I want in a name. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :sparkles:

Faeya is really pretty! I prefer @wishmay ’s suggestion of [name_f]Feya[/name_f] though

Faeya definitely looks like it could have come straight from a fantasy novel, but it also feels useable! It’s whimsical and breezy :fairy::sparkles:

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite spelling (and probably the most intuitive one) for this would be Feiya. With this sound, I would assume a Chinese name where I live, therefore the spelling

I love [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and [name_f]Fia[/name_f], but have never seen Faeya. I think it’s stunning!

I live in a very widely Spanish-speaking area, went to Spanish school as a child, and thus I cannot like this name—though it’s so nearly one I’d love. “Fea” (pronounced the same as Faeya, etc.) is the feminine form of the word meaning “ugly” in Spanish. :smiling_face_with_tear:

I’d choose [name_f]Faye[/name_f] or [name_f]Freya[/name_f] instead, definitely!

[name_f]Beautiful[/name_f]. I love the name [name_f]Faye[/name_f]. Faeya gives it something extra. I will have to add it to my list.
