Faith for a boy?

okay.
so I saw faith in a forum when someone misgendered my character (don’t worry ur fine) and I realized

faith might be unisex
mind blown

heres the thing: I’ve never known a person named [name_f]Faith[/name_f]. So if you have, this name may have a very feminine connatation. but I don’t see why it couldn’t be unisex?? like it’s a virtue name AND a word name so I kinda really like it for a boy.
maybe in dystopian universes only. thoughts?

I’ve never met a [name_f]Faith[/name_f] either. I can see why you’d say it’s unisex, faith being a abstract concept with no gender. I could picture a male character called [name_f]Faith[/name_f]. In fact, I’m starting to like the idea.

Sure, you need to keep in mind that [name_f]Faith[/name_f] has a long history of being used exclusively female, so misgendering your boy [name_f]Faith[/name_f] will happen. But since it’s only a character you’re naming, this shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

I happen to know several girls named [name_f]Faith[/name_f], however I don’t really see a problem with it as a boy’s name. As long as when the character is first introduced you mention or hint that he is male, there shouldn’t be a problem. It would work well in dystopian worlds, although it could be used in any setting (I think). I am starting to like it as a boy’s name. I guess I might have to look into some of the girl’s names for boy’s!
