Hiya Itās been so long!
The girls are all three home sick with me, Vision and I are losing our voices, and the littles are playing with (battery operated) candles in the rain. Should they be, when theyāre already sick? I guess not. But am I glad for some rest inside with my big girl watching The Avengers and talking to you all? Oh I am.
First order of business: our Vis is eight years old! She turned eight exactly one month ago today, celebrated with friends at the park over that weekend, and ate enough strawberry ice cream to turn her hair pinkāif only it worked that way.
Our not-so-little Vision Beulah is an imaginative, wild, untamable soul. I love her constant energy, her gentle heart, and her rousing voice. She reads with fervor, curls up like she did as a baby when she watches her favorite movies, and tries truly to be patient with a world thatās not as fast as she isāincluding two young sisters who can take their sweet time because their sister will always be the quick one. Oh Vizzy Boo, how we love you!
Her music helps her work at her patience so much. It is amazing to watch that massive wooden piano calm the buzz of Vis. Wellā¦ usually, it does.
Spent her birthday in the āwoodsā (the hiking trail above the park), playing witch and crow, battling evil spells, and riding dragons.
Clementine and Florence are becoming very close little friends. Their bond is adorable, until one falls or one pushes the other too hardā¦ oh sisterhood. They play together and encourage each other, inspired by Vision to be daring, and all three of them work together to build little worlds in their rooms and our yards. Itās so much fun to see them.
Clemma is still loving her ballet class, the easy pace of it, and the routine of getting ready for it weekly. Sheāll be five soon, but heck if she doesnāt already look it with those long legs! She comes alive at the sea. Pic from our last hurrah of summer, baking at the lake house of our friends.
Birdy. Our baby Bird. Sheās less than a month from turning two years old. Her favorite food is cake, all of her dresses are ripped, and her hair is longer every week. Sheās starting to look so much like Clemma in the face! Sheās officially one of the girls, and she couldnāt be happier. I canāt believe this spirit is my daughter. Any of the three of them, really.
Now Vis and I are back to movie time, and weāll been warm baths for the muddy children in the yard within the hour. Clemma looks like an orc, and Birdy isā¦ rolling in dirt. Angelic babies. This is the life.
We wish you all a brilliantly happy Thanksgiving, friends!
Our plans are simple this yearā¦ family dinner with both sets of grandparents, then road-trippers will arrive at our house (my sisters!) to reunite the cousins.
Any fun plans out there?
